Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a circuit scale by receiving an output from a C1 decoding means and performing only erasure correction when the number of errors standing C1 flags are the prescribed number of erasure correction or below. SOLUTION: Error detection or error correction of a C1 code is performed in a C1 decoder 7 to be written in a memory 8, and code error information is written in an FF 9. The regenerative data are read out from the memory 8 to be supplied to a C2 decoder 11, and a C2 code is decoded only in the erasure correction. At this time, when an erasure flag exceeding the prescribed number of erasure correction comes to the decoder 11, the decoder 11 doesn't decode the C2 code. Further, when no error correction when the C1 code is decoded by the decoder 7 exists, no code error flag stands on the decoder 11. Thus, the FF writing a C2 flag is eliminated.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To extremely facilitate a switching operation when a surround system is utilized and a television receiver is singly utilized in the AV amplifier capable of constituting the surround system in combination with the television receiver. CONSTITUTION:When the surround system is utilized, the power switch 41 of the AV amplifier 4 is turned on. A changeover switch 50 is switched to the position of a center audio amplifier circuit 48, for example an audio signal fed from a VTR 5 is separated into a front audio signal, a rear audio signal and a center audio signal by a Dolby surround processor 45 and they are fed to a surrounding speaker via an output terminal 49. When the television receiver 1 is singly utilized, the power switch 41 of the AV amplifier 4 is turned off. Then the changeover switch 50 is switched to the position of a television audio input terminal 51 and the television audio signal processed by an amplifier circuit of the television receiver 1 is fed to the speakers 11A, 11B of the television receiver 1 via the AV amplifier 4.

By this method, a channel recorded with an usual sound signal of the recording medium and a channel recorded with a sound signal by after- recording are discriminated.

A microcomputer 14 variably controls the extent of noise elimination in the noise eliminating part 3 based on the coefficient which is obtained for compression of picture data by a forecaster 13 provided in the compression processing part 2. Therefore, unnecessary data of picture data is eliminated, and the overall data volume of picture data is reduced to improve the compression efficiency, and the block distortion is reduced to obtain a satisfactory reproduced picture. Further, the reproduced picture having a natural pattern is obtained by the proper noise elimination processing.
