When the switch 10 is off, an action mode combined with a variety of modes can be set according to the operations of a shutter speed setting dial 5 that acts also as setting and switching an automatic exposure (AE) mode, the switches 8 and 9 and a switch changing over a single photograph and continuous photographs. When the switch 10 is on, a setting signal from an automode setting signal generation part is prioritized rather than setting signals from other setting signal generation parts to univocally set the action mode, thereby controlling an action.

Thus, in the case of the recording of post-recording mode or pre-recording mode, the loss of the correspondence between the picture and audio or the loss of the single recording of the picture and audio is eliminated, and the intentional recording is applied.

CONSTITUTION:When a floppy 51 is set to a camera, it is detected by a switch 74 and a prescribed control signal is fed from a system controller 60 to a controller 59. Thus, a drive voltage is supplied from the controller 59 to a motor 58, the track position of the head 31 is sought sequentially and each track is reproduced by the head 31. The reproducing signal is fed to a detection circuit 43 via a switch circuit 35 and a reproducing amplifier 42 to detect the presence of a recording signal Sv or an FM signal Sf. The detection output is fed to the system controller 60 to generate the directory representing whether the signals Sv,Sf are recorded. Based on the directory, the number of times and quantity making it possible for recording are calculated to the unrecorded magnetic track and the result is displayed on the display means 81.

Even when the magnetic head is located on the track of the 1st address in the frame mode, the number display is expressed not as 50/50 bus as 25/25.
