Abstract: A solid-state still camera includes a detector for detecting how much track space is already occupied and producing a detector signal for every occupied track. A counter counts the detector signals and produces a counter signal representative of the number of occupied tracks. The solid-state still camera is also provided with a manually operable mode selector for selecting video recording mode from among a plurality of different modes, such as frame mode and field mode. An arithmetic circuit is associated with the counter to receive the counter signals therefrom. The arithmetic circuit is also connected to the mode selector to receive a selected mode indicative signal. The arithmetic circuit derives the number of pictures that can be taken based on the counter signal value and the selected mode indicative signal. The value derived by the arithmetic circuit is displayed on a visual display. Preferably, the solid-state still camera also includes an audio recording feature. The detector also detects the tracks occupied by recorded audio signals. The indicator makes it possible to conveniently know the number of blank tracks available for taking pictures or recording audio sounds.

Abstract: The iris drive mechanism (1) has two diaphragms (13,15) which are opened and/or closed by a first lever (9) rotated by an ideal gyrator (IG) meter (5) and a second lever (17) in which an engagement hole (17A) with which an output shaft (5A) of the IG meter is engaged, and an engagement pin (17B) engaged into an oblong hole (9B) formed through the first lever, and a rotary shaft (11) to which the first lever is rotatably supported. The first lever (9) is rotated through the second lever (17) by the IG meter. Therefore, when an aperture is small, a resolution of the F number can be increased, and this can enhance the automatic exposure control performance.

In the state that the screw 2 is moved to the stopper part side by the distance A, the projection positioned on the both sides of the recessed part 8 has the size that it does not interfere in the screw 2.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent recording of operating sound of an automatic focusing mechanism by providing an attenuation means in a sound recording system and applying an attenuation command signal to the sound recording system when the automatic focusing mechanism operates. CONSTITUTION:A signal that indicates automatic focusing is in action is sent out continuously from a CPU 14 to a system controller 12 when automatic focusing is being made, and responding to this, an attenuation command signal is sent out continuously from the system controller 12 to an attenuation circuit 20. In the meantime, sound signals are attenuated by, for instance, about 10dB by the attenuation circuit 20 and stored in a memory 22 for sound storing. Accordingly, disagreeable sound of an automatic focusing mechanism is not recorded.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To select optionally and individually the recording start timing and the pickup timing by starting sound collection to a sound storage memory by the 1st operation, picking up and image by the 2nd operation and recording the sound stored in a recording medium by the 3rd operation. CONSTITUTION:When a shutter button 5 is turned on at the 1st stage, the sound caught by a microphone 4 is stored in a sound storage memory 19, sound collection is started and when the sound collecting time (t) is equal to the timewise storage capacity tmu, the sound storage is stopped. When the shutter button 5 is turned on at the 2nd stage, the shutter is switched, an image pickup device 11 picks up the image and the picture is recorded magnetically in a magnetic disc 16 immediately. In turning off the shutter button 5 in the 1st stage, the sound signal stored in the memory 19 is recorded magnetically on the magnetic disc 16 and a series of recordings are finished. Thus, the sound collection start timing and the image pickup timing are selected optionally according to the state.
