By such a mechanism, the set value of back tension is made small in the case of using the small tape cassette, so that minimum and maximum tension in the case of using it is within the tension change in the case of using the large tape cassette.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To make right and left moving phases coincide at the time of turning a cassette holder and to eliminate the occurrence of distortion by supporting the holder with a prescribed cross link having two link pieces crossed. CONSTITUTION:The two link pieces 17 and 17 are freely turnably connected by a connecting pin 18 to form the cross link 16, and two sets of turning end parts 19a, 19b and 20a, 20b are arranged at the same distance from a turning fulcrum 18. Then, a supporting pin 25 of the cassette holder 9 is inserted into a connecting hole 21 of the turning end part 19a, and a sliding pin 22 of the other turning end part 19b is engaged with a guide hole 14 of the holder 9. Then, sliding pins 23a and 23b of the remaining turning end parts 20a and 20b are engaged with guide holes 6a and 6b of a chassis 1. Consequently, a speed of the end part 19a toward the end part 20a and a moving speed of the end part 19b toward the end part 20b are equalized, so that the holder 9 is brought under the equal state of its right and left phases during turning.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently record data of a transfer rate lower the a recording rate or a variable rate on a tape by intermittently running the tape and record ing dummy data in a part of an unstable part at the time of starting/stopping. SOLUTION: Apersonal computer 4 takes in data of 1-10Mbps variable bit rates such as MPEG 2 from a satellite broadcast, and stores the data in a bank RAM 52 of an interface board 5. When the data of bank RAM 52 reaches a fixed amount, a bridge control part 51 sends a start signal to a recording and reproducing device 6. A mechanism control part 65 starts mechanical deck 66, and rotates a capstan to the forward for 0.8 seconds and then stops it. Dummy data provided with ID data are recorded at the same time as starting. The control part transfers data of bank RAM 52 from the start for 0.6 seconds, 0.167 seconds after start, and records them at 25Mbps by helical scanning. The dummy data with ID are recorded for the remaining 0.033 seconds before stop.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To unnecessitate a lock screw of a tape guide and to widen a selection range of materials which can be used for a guide base by mounting a plate spring between a guide base and a holding body of a tape guide. SOLUTION: The spring force of a plate spring 41 mounted between a guide base 40 and a vertical guide 11 of a slide member 10 is always applied to an under face of a holding body 47 of the vertical guide. Consequently, even when a holding force of a guide shaft 44 by a guide base 40 is lost by creep generated in the guide base 40, the vertical guide 11 is always energized in the upper direction by a spring force of the plate spring 41, and rotation of the vertical guide 11 is prevented. Therefore, the vertical guide 11 can be surely held without using a lock screw for locking the guide shaft 44 of the vertical guide 11, and a general material having less creep-resistance can be used as the guide base 40.

Then, the spring tension adjusting mechanism 29 is capable of turning around a turning fulcrum axis 37, and the turning fulcrum axis 37 is set so as to be an operating point of spring tension of the tension coil spring 28.
