    Abstract: PURPOSE:To increase both the picture quality and the sound quality for the reproducing device by securing a square form for the signal magnetic field distribution on the magnetic recording medium. CONSTITUTION:The information signal to be recorded is supplied to signal input terminal 10 and then supplied to modulator 11 such as the frequency modulator or the like. The square wave signal of the output side of modulator 11 is supplied to rectangular wave converter 12 consisting of the integrating circuit to be changed into the rectangular wave, and this output signal is supplied to nonlinearity compensation circuit 13 to secure recording at the saturation magnetizing region to obtain a sufficient signal magnetic field. The signal magnetic field obtained at the output side of circuit 13 is supplied to recording head 18 via recording amplifier 16 and bias trapping circuit 17. And the bias signal obtained at the output side of bias oscillator 19 is supplied to head 8 via bias adjuster 20, and then the bias signal is piled on the recording signal. The signal magnetic field thus obtained features a square magnetic field distribution, and as a result the using signal wavelength band can be increased to enhance both the picture quality and the sound quality.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the disturbance of the signal magnetic domain for the magnetic regenerated signal using the photomagnetic effect by recording the signals after applying the specific DC magnetic field vertically to the magnetic recording medium. CONSTITUTION:Magnetic tape 1 receives the vertical DC magnetic field of more than the anti-magnetism force Hc of the magnetic powder of the tape itself. Soft magnetic film surface vertical easy-to-magnetize film device 2 is installed at the position touching tape 1 running in the direction of the arrow markings. Thus the light generated from light source generator 3 is condensed on the magnetized film of device 2 via polarizer 4, beam splitter 5 and object lens 6 each and then reflected by the reflecting film to be supplied to light detector 7 via lens 6 and splitter 5. During this, the light receives the right or left Faraday optical rotation in accordance to the magnetizing direction of the domain of the magnetized film. As a result, the light modulated signal received the width modulation according to the domain width is supplied to photoelectric converter 8, and the electric signal obtained at the output terminal 9 of element 8 is regenerated through the FM regenerator.
