    Abstract: A method of recording and reproducing audio signals and corresponding visual signals in parallel tracks extending in the longitudinal direction on a magnetic tape, includes the steps of recording the audio signals in first and second primary tracks on opposite sides of the tape in the widthwise direction thereof; and alternately recording a first visual information signal corresponding to the audio signal in the first primary tracks and a second visual information signal corresponding to the audio signal in the second primary tracks in a single secondary track positioned in the center of the tape in the widthwise direction thereof, the first visual information signal being recorded in first information blocks in the secondary track and the second visual information signal being recorded in second information blocks in the secondary track in an alternating relation with the first information blocks such that only the first visual information signal is reproduced when reproducing the audio signal from the first primary tracks and only the second visual information signal is reproduced when reproducing the audio signal from the second primary tracks. The preset invention is also directed to apparatus for performing the above method.

CONSTITUTION:On the 1st main signal track 2a of a magnetic tape 1, plural pieces of music M1-M3 are recorded with no-signal parts P lied between, and on the subsignal track 3, pieces of address information Q relating to those pieces of music are recorded as digital signals. While the contents of desired address information Q are specified, the no-sound part P on the tape 1 in a high-speed running state is detected and the address information Q in a constant-speed running state is also detected, thereby controlling the running of the tape 1 by the detection signals. Further, the contents of specified or retrieved address information Q are displayed by using liquid crystal, etc., to achieve rapid retrieval by using a display means for visual information.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To display visual information by recording subsignals relating to audio signals on a magnetic tape in the running-directional center by using a short- width recording head. CONSTITUTION:Subsignals (a) and (b) relating to audio signals recorded on the main signal tracks 2a and 2b of a magnetic tape 1 are recorded on a subsignal track 3 in the center of the tape in running directions A and B through a subordinate head device 60. This device 60 has a subordinate reproducing head 7 on the up side in the running direction A of the tape 1 and a subordinate recording head 6 on the down side. The heads 7 and 6 each have two head core 61 and 62 opposite to each other with gap parts 63 and 64 between; and the head 7 is made wider than the head 6, and the part except them is provided with a magnetic shield member 65. In the running directions A and B of the tape 1, the subsignals (b) and (a) digitized and made into blocks are reproduced by the head 7 respectively and visual information is displayed by using a liquid-crystal display device, etc.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce the vibration and noise and to increase the reliability, by screw feed of the arm at normal feed, by feeding the arm with the linear motor at high speed feed and by the constitution that the arm and the feed screw are not directly coupled. CONSTITUTION:In picking up the color video signal modulated from the video disc 5, drive current is fed to the plunger 31 to gear the half nut 25 and the feed screw 19, and the arm 1 is moved from outer to inner circumference. Further, in fast feeding or fast returning the arm 1, the power application to the plunger 31 is stopped and the drive current is fed to the drive coil 33 and the arm 1 is moved with the linear motor in high speed. Thus, vibration and noise can be prevented with the high speed movement of the arm 1 by the linear motor, and assembling is made easy by gearing the feed screw 19 and the half nut 25 to increase the reliability.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To display visual information by reproducing digitized information on a subsignal track, relating to the audio signal of a main signal track, by a subordinate reproducing head and displaying it on a display part through a reproducing circuit part. CONSTITUTION:A tape recorder 10 is equipped with heads which perform recording to and reproduction from main signal tracks 2a and 2b of a magnetic tape 1, and a subordinate recording head and a subordinate reproducing head which perform recording to and reproduction from one subsignal track 3 formed in the center of the tape 1 in the running direction. On this track 3, various pieces of information on audio signals of the main signal tracks are digitized and recorded in the form of numbers, alphabets, etc. Those pieces of information on this track 3 are extracted the subordinate reproducing head and a reproducing circuit part that the recorder 10 has, and then displayed on a display part 21 such as a liquid-crystal display device. Thus, while the audio signals are reproduced, various pieces of visual information relating to them are displayed.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To increase the accuracy of position adjustment such as magnetic head, by reducing the residual displacement, through the use of a porcelain plate in non-ferro-dielectric phase within the operating temperature. CONSTITUTION:The position control of the magnetic head having narrow track width such as VTR etc. requires high accuracy and control is made by using electric mechanical conversion element, as the element, the electrodes 12a and 12b are coated on the both major planes, and two non-ferrodielectric porcelain plates in non- ferro dielectric phase within the operating temperature are constituted for the element of bimorph construction by clipping the metal substrate 13, and one of the power supply 14 is connected to the substrate 13 and another is to the electrode 12a of the pocelain plate 11 via the switch 15. With this construction, one example of the displacement amount due to electrorestriction effect when the polarity of applied voltage is inverted is within + or - 1 mum for the residual displacement to the amplitude of + or - 45 mum and the residual displacement when the piezoelectric effect of the ferrodielectric porcelain is utilized as element is remarkably reduced and the positioning of head can be made with good accuracy.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain an electromechanical conversion element capable of a large displacement by putting a reinforcement plate and elastic modulus of which has an anisotropy between two piezo-electric bodies, the surfaces of which are provided with electrodes respectively, in order to make them into a laminate structure. CONSTITUTION:The electrodes 11 are attached to the surfaces and backs of two piezo-electric bodies 12 of lead zirconium titanate, the shim plate 13 the elastic modules of which has an anisotropy is put between the said bodies and these are laminated in a body. In this case, a carbon fiber sheet the fiber layer of which is impregnated with epoxy adhesive is used for the shim plate 13 that provides the effect of trap or reinforcement, the elastic modulus shows the maximum value in the extended direction of the fiber that extends in one direction and does the minimum value in the direction orthogonal to said direction. When a bimorph is made of the sheet, the direction of the expansion and its contraction is made to agree with the direction of extension of the fiber in order to obtain the quantity of displacement.
