Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a heating method, by which adhesion of film to roll, staining of roll staggering of film and changing of film width do not develop, by a method wherein the surface of each heated roll is covered by rubber having specified thickness and hardness in a method to heat up to an orientation temperature or heat treatment temperature. CONSTITUTION:Each of heated rolls 3-5 consists of a rubber roll covered by silicone rubber, the thickness of which is set to be 1mm or more and durometer hardness of which is also set to be within the range of 60-95. Because the above-mentioned rubber shown excellent blocking resistance to thermoplastic resin, which becomes more easily tacky to a heated mating side member, the adhesion of film F to the roll is prevented from occurring even at comparatively higher heating temperature. In addition, because the rubber is excellent in releasability, the adhesion of oligomer and the like scattering from the heated film to the roll is hard to occur and consequently the staining of the roll is suppressed. Further, because the frictional coefficient of the roll to the heated film is higher than that to metal, the jetting and the change in width of a film F is also suppressed and stable orientation and the like is possible even at the high speed.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable a conveying film to be held without any slippage on rollers by holding the conveying film between the surfaces of rollers while high potential difference is applied to a pair of rollers used. CONSTITUTION:High potential difference is applied between a draw roller 12 made of a rigid body and a facing roller 13 made of an elastic body from a high voltage electric power source 16. A conveying film 11 is conveyed to a draw roller 12 while it comes in contact with a pre-heating roller 14 where it is preheated up to the suitable temperature. Then, it is drawn to the direction that it is conveyed as a result of the difference in circumferential speed between the draw roller 12 and cooling rollers 15a-15c and then is forwarded to succeeding processes. High potential difference between the draw roller 12 and the facing roller 13 causes the conveying film 11 to stick on the draw roller 12 because of static electricity, then it is not drawn while contacting on the draw roller 12, but is drawn starting from a point parting from the draw roller 12 to a point contacting the cooling rollers 15a-15c at a drawing scale factor depending on the difference in circumferential speed between two rollers.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide the longitudinally stretching of thermoplastic resin film with no adhesion of roll-like blots and at the same time with no surface blemish such as scratch, wear and the like by a method wherein a pair of chains equipped with clips is employed as a transferring means A and a pair of chains equipped with clips or rolls are employed as a transferring means B. CONSTITUTION:Stretching is done by the difference between the transferring speeds of chains equipped with clips. Chains 4 and 4' equipped with clips driven at lower speed are set in a preheating oven 1. Film is preheated in the preheating oven up to a temperature, at which the film can be stretched. A radiation heater 2 is employed for uniform stretching. Chains 5 and 5' equipped with clips driven at higher speed are set in a cool air oven 3. The film, the stretch of which has finished, is cooled at this zone or rapidly cooled by being brought into contact with cooled rolls driven at higher speed simultaneous with the finish of stretching, resulting in reducing the blemish of the film nearly to zero.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a stable film formation by coating at least one side surface of an unoriented or uniaxially oriented film with a coating agent, coating an area not coated with the agent with a liquid, setting a temperature unevenness of the film in a lateral direction except its edge to a specific temperature or lower, and orienting the film in the lateral direction. SOLUTION: A film itself is heated to a temperature necessary for orienting up to immediately before the orientation. At this time, a solvent of a coating agent A is evaporated, and the film temperature of an area coated with the agent A is scarcely raised according to its evaporating latent heat. Since an evaporating latent heat of a liquid B is generated by coating an area not coated with the agent A with the liquid B, a temperature rise of the film of this area is suppressed. As a result, a film temperature differences between both the areas is suppressed to a low value. A coating amount of the liquid B may be decided so that the temperature difference falls within 25 deg.C.
