    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polymer composition having a high sensitivity and being capable of being readily developed with an aqueous alkali solution by including a copolymer of a vinyl compound having an acidic group with a tertiary amine compound having a double bond and a photopolymerization initiator. SOLUTION: The acid group of the copolymer used is a carboxyl, sulfo, or phosphonic group. The comonomer component is desirably methyl methacrylate. Especially, the copolymer is desirably one comprising styrene, methyl methacrylate, and methacrylic acid. The resin has an acid value of 50-150 mgkOH/g and a weight-average molecular weight of 5,000-50,000, The tertiary amine compound is exemplified by N,N-dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate and is used in an amount of, desirably, 0.5-2.5 mol per mol of the acid groups of the copolymer. The photopolymerization initiator is exemplified by 2- hydroxy-2-methyl-1-phenylpropan-1-one and is used in an amount of 0.05-10 wt.% based on the composition.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a photosensitive lithographic printing master plate having high ink repelling property without desensitization, excellent ink depositing property and printing durability, in which an isopropanol-free dampening water can be used, by forming an ink depositing layer on a photosensitive layer. SOLUTION: At least a hydrophilic swelling layer and a photosensitive layer containing a diazo resin are successively formed on a substrate. Further, an ink depositing layer is formed on the photosensitive layer containing a diazo resin. As the material to form the ink depositing layer, a hydrophobic polymer is preferable. As the hydrophobic polymer, a novolac resin, resol resin, polyurethane resin, melamine resin, polyamide resin and epoxy resin can be used. If necessary, a photosensitizer, dye, acid and binder can be added to the ink depositing layer. The amt. of the compsn.. in the ink depositing layer is preferably controlled to 0.1 to 10 g/m in a dry state, preferably to about 0.3 to 5 g/m .

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate development, expand the control width of moisture water for lithographic printing of water PS plate, and permit IPA to be free from the moisture water by containing a compound generating amine through laser irradiation in the layer of a latent hydrophilic water swelling layer and/or in a thermosensible layer formed on the layer. SOLUTION: A compound generating amine by irradiation with laser is contained in the layer of a latent hydrophilic water swelling layer and/or in a thermosensible layer formed on the layer. An amine imide compound or its group is mentioned as a compound for generating amine by the agency of irradiation with laser. The compound or its group is composed of monocarboxylic acid alkyl ester, hydrazine or its group, and a monopoxy compound. Herein, methyl acetate, ethyl acetate, or the like are given for monocarboxylic acid alkyl ester, 1-methyl hydrazine or the like is for hydrazine or the like, and ethylene oxide or the like is for a monoepoxy compound.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure ink repellency and to form the pattern of digital-processed image information with low output visible light laser by incorporating a photosensitive compsn contg. a polymerizable compd. having at least one ethylenic unsatd. group and a specified iron complex salt into a photosensitive layer. SOLUTION: A photosensitive compsn. consisting of a polymerizable compd. having at least one ethylenic unsatd. group, an iron complex salt represented by the formula, at least one kind of tert. amine, one or more kinds of compds. selected from among org. halogen compds., arom. iodonium salts and arom. sulfonium salts and at least one kind of dye as a spectral sensitizer or a UV sensitizer is contained in a photosensitive layer formed in a hydrophilic swellable layer and/or on the swellable layer. In the formula, each of R and R is a monovalent org. halogen or cyano, (m) is an integer of 0-5, (n) is an integer of 0-6 and X is a monovalent residue of an acid.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the inspectability of a printing plate by insolubilizing a dye with a color formed by exposure in water by forming a photosensitive hydrophilic swellable layer contg. a leuco dye, a photooxidizing agent and an org. acid salt on a substrate. SOLUTION: This original plate has at least a photosensitive hydrophilic swellable layer contg. a leuco dye, a photooxidizing agent and an org. acid salt on the substrate and it is allowed to form a color at the time of exposure. The photooxidizing agent is inert until it is exposed to active radiant light and the agent generates a chemical seed oxidizing the leuco dye to a color forming dye when exposed. The org. acid salt is used for insolubilizing a water- soluble dye with a formed color in water or reducing the water solubility of the dye. An anionic surfactant such as a fatty acid salt or abietate is preferably used as the org. acid salt. A polyacrylic acid copolymer may be used in combination with the anionic surfactant.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the controllable range of a dampening water and to make the dampening water free from isopropanol(IPA) by specifying the range of the swelling rate with water of a nonpicture part comprising a hydrophilic swellable layer and controlling the swelling rate with water in a picture part lower than the swelling rate with water of a nonpicture part. SOLUTION: The swelling rate with water in a nonpicture part (an ink- repelling part) comprising a hydrophilic swellable layer is controlled to 10 to 2000% considering the ink repelling property and shape-holding property. It is more preferable that the rate is 50 to 1700%, and further more preferable when the rate is 50 to 700%. If the swelling rate is too small, the ink repelling property decreases in the nonpicture part, and if the swelling rate in the nonpicture part is too high, the shape holding property of the nonpicture part decreases. This causes damages in the nonpicture part during printing. It is necessary that the swelling rate in the picture part is lower than the swelling rate of the nonpicture part in order to form an image, however, the swelling rate is preferably controlled to

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the controllable range of a dampening water and to make the dampening water free from isopropanol(IPA) by carrying out processes of applying a hydrophilic swellable layer on a substrate to form an ink-repelling layer, impregnating the layer with a photosensitive compsn., and laminating a protective layer thereon. SOLUTION: This method for producing a photosensitive planographic printing master plate having a hydrophilic swellable layer on a substrate includes the following processes. (1) A hydrophilic swellable layer is formed on a substrate. (2) A photosensitive compsn. is applied on the hydrophilic swellable layer to infiltrate. (3) A protective layer is formed to cover the surface of the hydrophilic swellable layer impregnated with the photosensitive compsn. In this method, it is preferable to continuously perform the applying and drying processes. Namely, a substrate is nipped by nip rollers and released from a web roller at a const. rate. Then a coating device selected from a coating means is used to apply a primer layer compsn., and then the substrate is carried in a drying and hardening device to form a primer layer.
