Abstract: An original form plate for a novel photosensitive lithographic form plate, in which development processing is simple, and which possesses a high ink repellent property without undergoing a desensitization and can use pure water as a dampening water, can be produced by using a lithographic form plate, in which (1) a non-printing area portion made of a hydrophilic swelling layer has an amount of water absorption of 1 to 50 g/m2 and a printing area portion has a less amount of water absorption than that of the non-printing area portion; (2) the non-printing area portion made of a hydrophilic swelling layer has an initial elastic modulus of 0.01 to 10 kg/mm2 and the printing area portion has a larger initial elastic modulus than that of the non-printing area portion; (3) the non-printing area portion made of a hydrophilic swelling layer has a water swelling rate of 10 to 2000 % and the printing area portion has a less water swelling rate than that of the non-printing area portion; or (4) the nonprinting area portion made of a hydrophilic swelling layer has a phase separation structure composed of at least two phases, that is, a phase, of which a main component comprises at least a hydrophilic polymer, and a phase, of which a main component comprises a hydrophobic polymer.

Abstract: A lithographic printing plate, in which (1) the non-image area of a hydrophilic swellable layer is 1 to 50 g/m in water absorbability, and the water absorbability of the image area is less than that of the non-image area, (2) the non-image area of a hydrophilic swellable layer is 0.01 to 10 kg/mm in initial modulus, and the initial modulus of the image area is larger than that of the non-image area, (3) the non-image area of a hydrophilic swellable layer is 10 to 2000% in water swelling ratio, and the water swelling ratio of the image area is less than that of the non-image area, or (4) the hydrophilic swelling layer has a phase separated structure consisting of at least two phases; a phase mainly composed of a hydrophilic polymer and a phase mainly composed of a hydrophobic polymer, can be produced from a new photosensitive lithographic original plate simple in development treatment, highly repellent against ink even without being etched, and allowing the use of pure water as dampening water.

The photosensitive layer contains a diamine derivative represented by the following general formula (1): in which R1, R2, R3 and R4 are each independently hydrogen or a hydrocarbon, substituted hydrocarbon, acyl or substituted acyl, group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms, R5 and R6 are each independently hydrogen or an alkyl group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms and any of the groups R5 and R6 is optionally alternatively bonded to either of the methylene groups remote from the oxygen (as shown in formula 1), or adjacent the oxygen, in the ether chain, and n is 1 to 50.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a producing method of a waterless lithographic printing master plate by which fluctuation in the UV ray intensity of a UV ray light source is eliminated, the gray scale sensitivity of the waterless lithographic printing master plate is stabilized, and the amt. of waste aluminum substrate is decreased to improve the yield. SOLUTION: In the production process of a waterless lithographic printing master plate having at least a primer layer, photosensitive layer and silicone rubber layer in this order on a substrate, the process includes at least one process of irradiating the whole surface with UV rays after the photosensitive layer is applied. The intensity of UV rays from the UV ray light source is always measured, and the intensity of the UV rays is automatically controlled from the result of the measurement.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the ink deposition property of image parts and to obtain an excellent ink repulsive property by laminating a photosensitive layer and hydrophilic swelling layer in this order on a substrate, thereby forming an original plate. SOLUTION: The original plate is formed by laminating the photosensitive layer and hydrophilic swelling layer in this order on the substrate. The original plate may be provided with a protective layer on this hydrophilic swelling layer. The photosensitive layer is a photosetting photosensitive layer including a photosetting compd. The photosetting compd. means a compd. contg. a functional group which is changed in polymn., crosslinking, etc., by irradiation with active rays. The hydrophilic swelling layer has a phase sepn. structure composed of two phases; a phase consisting essentially of a hydrophilic polymer and a phase consisting essentially of a hydrophobic polymer. The hydrophilic polymer is a polymer which is substantially insoluble in water and exhibits a water swelling property. Namely, the hydrophilic polymer means a polymer which adsorbs or absorbs water under ordinary use conditions and means a polymer which dissolves in water or swells in water. The hydrophobic polymer mainly composed of an aq. emulsion is preferably used.
