    Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide the subject transmission shaft made of fiber-reinforced resin improved in joint durability, and to provide the subject operation stick consisting of a combination of this transmission shaft with a main pipe. CONSTITUTION: This transmission shaft for bush cutters has such a constitution that the cross-sectional shape of the inner or outer surface at its end to be jointed of a fiber-reinforced resin tubular body 50 constituting this shaft is made polygonal. The transmission shaft is produced by laminating the outer periphery of a mandrel made of soluble linear material with reinforcing fibers and a resin followed by conducting a pultrusion using a mold and then dissolving and removing the mandrel. The cross-sectional shape of the mandrel or the mold to be used is polygonal. The objective operation stick for bush cutters is a combination of this transmission shaft with a main pipe, and the main pipe is made up of a fiber-reinforced resin inner layer formed of carbon fibers crossedly arranged in a helical way, a fiber-reinforced resin intermediate layer formed of carbon fibers arranged axially, and a fiber-reinforced resin outer layer formed of carbon fifers crossedly arranged in a helical way.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the motive power by forming a sandwich panel or a hollow section panel as a structural member of a cage. SOLUTION: A cage 1 of an elevator is formed by five faces, that is, a floor plate 3, a ceiling plate 4, the side plates 5 and a back plate 6, and an openable and closable car door 7 is installed at a front side. The floor plate 3, the ceiling plate 4 and the side plates 5 are formed by a sandwich panel comprising a core material and a skin material made of a plastic sheet, or a hollow section panel using the plastic sheet as the skin material and the stringer, and a part corresponding to a car frame 2 is provided with a reinforcement spur made of these panels to improve the total rigidity and strength of the cage. Accordingly high rigidity and strength can be obtained even when a thickness of the panel is thin, and the weight can be considerably reduced by the effect of the low specific gravity of the material. Whereby the motive power can be reduced, and the car can be easily applied to a home elevator operated by a domestic power source.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the wight of a pressure vessel and enhance the pressure proofing preferemance by constituting the pressure vessel out of an inner shell having a gas barrier forming property and an outer shell made of an FRP containing reinforcing fibers and resin together with specifying the tensile modules of elasticity, tensile repute strain, and the angle of the reinforcing fiber layer of the outer shell. SOLUTION: A pressure vessel 1 is provided with an inner shell 2 having a gas barrier forming property and a pressure-tight outer shell covering the inner shell 2. The inner shell 12 is made up of as thin light alloy like an aluminum alloy and a resin like polyethylene resin, and the resin product is produced through blow molding. The outer shell 3 is made of an FRP containing reinforcing fibers and the resin, and its properties are as follows: the tensile modules of elasticity is more than 35G Pa, and the tensile rupture strain is more than 1.5%, and it contains reinforcing fiber layers which are arranged at angles of (±5 deg. to ±50 deg.) and (±75 deg. to ±105 deg.), respectively with respect to the axis of the inner shell 2. The outer shell forms for improvement a wound later consisting of reinforcing threads containing resin around the inner shell 2 through the filament winding method. In this case, carbon fiber threads are used for the reinforcing thread, while thermoplastic resin like epoxy resin is used for the resin. With this, the weight of the pressure vessel can be reduced, while the pressure proofing performance of the pressure vessel against the repeated impact can be enhanced.
