Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To compose a color cathode-ray tube which can effectively suppress the doming of a shadow mask by setting the form and the forming position of band form projecting regions in an optimum condition. SOLUTION: This color cathode-ray tube having a shadow mask of a rectangular form practically has a single or plural band form projecting regions 40a to 40c projecting in the direction of a phosphor screen along the longer shaft of the shadow mask 30, on an effective surface 31 consisting of a curved surface opposing to the phosphor screen of the shadow mask 30. And when the length of 1/2 of the shorter shaft of the shadow mask 30 is made Y, the distance of a border nearest to the longer shaft, of the borders between the band form projecting regions 40a to 40c, and the neighboring areas, from the longer shaft is made y1, and the distance of the furthest border from the longer shaft is made y2, those band form projecting regions 40a to 40c are provided in the relations: 1/9Y
