Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a deflection yoke capable of reducing deflecting power, a manufacturing cost, and a heating quantity, and capable of improving a grade of a display image displayed on an image screen, and a cathode-ray tube device having this deflection yoke. SOLUTION: This deflection yoke has a pair of saddle type horizontal deflection coils 30a and 30b having an almost truncated pyramid shape, a magnetic substance core 34 having an almost truncated cone shape, and a pair of toroidal vertical deflection coils 32a and 32b. A midpoint CL(M) of the total length CL running in the tube axis Z direction up to a diametrally small part 34S from a diametrally large part 34L of the magnetic substance core 34 is positioned on the diametrally small part 30S side of the horizontal deflection coils 30a and 30b from a position separate by a distance of 0.41×HL in the tube axis Z direction with a diametrally large part 30L of the horizontal deflection coils 30a and 30b as a starting point when the total length running in the tube axis X direction of the horizontal deflection coils 30a and 30b is set to HL. Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color picture tube and its manufacturing method wherein a shape as a whole set is made down-sized as much as possible even if an image plane itself has become larger when it is assumed that the whole set becomes large-sized because mounting fittings for the color picture tube to be mounted in a case body also become larger, accompanied with a large-sizing and flattening of the color picture tube. SOLUTION: By the mounting fittings 21 of the color picture tube 22 being positioned in the inside of a block sectioned by a tangential extension lines of respective sides of a face panel 11, a spatial distance between the color picture tube 22 and the case body 31 is made as small as possible. As a means for this, when a mounting fittings 21 is formed, a lug piece 38 and a stationary piece 40 are press-molded in a nearly right angle, and a through-hole 39 is drill-installed and formed in the lug piece 38 afterwards.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color picture tube capable of preventing undesired light emission from a phosphor layer occurring when an electron beam collides and reflects on a sidewall of an open hole and capable of suppressing degradation of mechanical strength of a shadow mask. SOLUTION: An open hole of a shadow mask of this color picture tube is so structured that a small hole on an opposite side of a large hole on a phosphor screen side is made eccentric in a center direction of the shadow mask except at a center A of the shadow mask and an eccentricity of the small hole to the large hole is maximum at an intermediate part B between a center and a peripheral part of the shadow mask. When the quantity of eccentricity is set to be maximum at the intermediate part between the center part of the shadow mask and the peripheral part in a longitudinal direction, degradation of mechanical strength of the shadow mask is prevented, and undesired light emission from the phosphor layer occurring when an electron beam collides on a sidewall of the large hole and reflects in a phosphor screen direction is prevented so as to structure a color picture tube capable of displaying a good quality image. And particularly, an outer surface of an effective part of the panel is applied to a flat color picture tube to obtain a remarkable effect.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color picture tube resisting deterioration of color purity by enhancing the strength for retaining the curved surface of a mask body to reduce the shift of beam landing. SOLUTION: This color picture tube, has a generally rectangular shadow mask 30 that comprises an effective surface 32 made of a curved surface opposite to a phosphor screen, a mask body 35 consisting of an unperforated part 33 surrounding the effective screen and a skirt part 34 formed by curving the outer periphery thereof, and a mask frame 36 mounted on the skirt part. A structure in which the radius of curvature of the effective surface of the mask body, in the direction of at least either a minor or major axis, is at its minimum in the vicinity of a position halfway between the center and the circumference of the effective surface is adopted.

CONSTITUTION:A color picture tube is provided with an almost rectangular shadow mask 30 opposed to a phosphor screen 3, and a magnetic shield 31. An electron shield part 36 is provided on the side end part of the tube axis of the inner overhung part of a mask frame or of the engagement part 38 of the magnetic shield. The electron shield part is tilted id the direction of the phosphor screen at an angle at which the electron beam from an electron gun 10 colliding with the shield surface of the electron shield part is reflected in the side of the electron gun, rather than in the direction where the reflection of the electron beam is vertical to the tube axis. The tilted angles of the electron shield part are differed from one another at the mask frame, the longitudinal side, the shorter side or the diagonal part of the magnetic shield.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To easily attach/detach a shadow mask without deteriorating a spring characteristic of an elastic supporting body by applying force in the direction of a panel skirt part to a junction part of an engaging part with a movable part to attach/detach the shadow mask to/from the panel. CONSTITUTION:Attaching/detaching of a shadow mask 14 in a panel and mask assembly is conducted by applying force F in the direction of an arrow mark 20 toward a skirt part 7 of a panel 6 to a junction part 13 of an engaging part 4 of a nearly N-shaped elastic supporting body 11 with a movable part 12, reversely to the case of a nearly V-shaped elastic supporting body. Namely, when the force F in the direction of the part 7 of the panel 6 is applied to the junction part 13 of the part 4 of the supporting body 11 with the part 12, the part 13 approaches the part 7 while the part 12 is curved so that a phosphor screen 8 side may be recessed and a contained angle between the part 4 and the part 12 is decreased. An opposite side end part of the part 4 (screen 8 side end part) therefore approaches the mask 14. Consequently, engagement between an engaging hole of the part 4 and a stud pin 5 is released so that the mask 14 can be easily removed from the panel 6 and attaching thereof can be also easily conducted in a similar manner.
