Abstract: A tool to determine a pre-puncture needle shape to provide a desired approach to a target location based on measured patient anatomy is disclosed herein. Anatomical relationship between an outlet of an access vessel and a desired puncture sight on the interatrial septum is used to determine the pre-puncture needle shape. The tool may be used to provide a recommended preferred needle shape from a collection of predetermined needle shapes (e.g. commercially available needle shapes) and/or recommend a bent shape to which a physician may modify a predetermined needle shape to fit. Additionally, or alternatively, the tool may be used to provide a recommended preferred needle shape to manufacturers to create a bespoke needle shape for a given patient and/or a recommended preferred needle shape for patient cohort having similar anatomy within the cohort.

Abstract: A robotic surgery system (10) for preparing a humerus (H) to receive a shoulder implant (102) comprises a robotic manipulator (56), a cutting tool (22) to be coupled to the robotic manipulator (56), a navigation pointer (106) configured to be tracked by the surgical system (10), a localizer (34) configured to track movement of the cutting tool (22) and the humerus (H), and a controller (26, 54) coupled to the robotic manipulator (56) and the localizer (34). The controller is configured to determine positions of a plurality of landmarks on the humerus (H) using the navigation pointer (106), based on the plurality of landmarks, automatically define a virtual intramedullary axis (MA) of the humerus (H), define a pose of a virtual resection object (PH, RO) in a coordinate system, based on a location of the virtual intramedullary axis (MA) and the plurality of landmarks, wherein the virtual resection object (PH, RO) defines a volume of material to be removed from the humerus (H) to receive the shoulder implant (102), and to operate the robotic manipulator (56) to control movement of the cutting tool (22) relative to the humerus (H) based on the virtual resection object (PH, RO) for preparing the humerus (H) to receive the shoulder implant (102).

Abstract: The present disclosure provides an automatic planning method and system for a simulated knee surgery based on deep learning. The automatic planning method includes: acquiring a medical image of a knee joint, and converting a pixel pitch in the medical image into an actual length; selecting a key regional image in the medical image, and performing object detection on the key regional image to extract key points; and calculating a corrective angle with coordinates of the extracted key points by labeling the key points and a mechanical axis, calculating a rotated angle, simulating bone cutting and bone rotation to obtain a surgery planning image, and performing automatic planning on a high tibial osteotomy (HTO) and a distal femoral osteotomy (DFO). With deep learning, the present disclosure predicts the key points, and calculates an angle of the mechanical axis in a lower limb X-ray image, such that a doctor can make a choice in eight surgery schemes according to a displayed angle. The system automatically plans and simulates the scheme, does not require manual operation, and greatly improves a working efficiency.
