Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an optical shaping method of high resolving power and to reduce surface discontinuity by forming boule differentiation between initial layer data of first and second layers to form the data of the first layer and forming the layer data of the other layer to form layers one by one. SOLUTION: The boundary lines S[4]+, S[5]- and S[4]* of a matter and the slide plane thereof are provided and boule subtraction is performed between a certain layer and the layer on the upper side thereof and, from layer contours L(4)', L(5)', the region U(4) on the layer not overlapped with the upper side layer is determined. Next, boule differentiation between the layer contour L(4)' and the region facing to the bottom is operated to again adjust the layer contour. Next, the layer contour is subjected to third adjustment in order to subtract the region facing to the surface. The layer contour adjusted three times is obtained by operating the boule differentiation between the layer contour adjusted twice and the adjusted contour facing to the surface.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep exposure constant along a vector in a method for vector-scanning a laser beam. SOLUTION: A laser beam from a laser light source is oriented to a scanner which is provided with a first mirror 146 connected to a first rotary motive device 148 for positioning the first mirror and a second mirror 147 connected to a second rotary motive device 149 for positioning the second mirror 147. The laser beam is oriented from the first mirror to the second mirror, and then to a working face. By providing commanded-position signals to each of the first and the second rotary motive devices to rotate respective mirrors, the laser beam is scanned along the vector, each mirror undergoing acceleration at the beginning and the end of the vector, wherein the commanded-position signals are calculated based on physical mathematical modeling of the acceleration of the mirrors taking into account effects of inertia of the scanning system. SOLUTION: A high-speed trially forming apparatus of the three-dimensional article with the support structure supplies the fluidized material having the higher curing temperature than the ambient temperature to be discharged from a print head 9 to each layer for constituting the three-dimensional article on a material supply base 18, and accurately decides a thickness of the layer by a smoothing member 11 having a rotary cylinder 18a. The layer for constituting the section is formed of data of the three-dimensional article and data of the support structure, and the article and the structure are simultaneously laminated in a vertical direction at the same speed. Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize the time for construction of each layer in selective laser sintering. SOLUTION: In a computer controlled apparatus and method for preparing a three-dimensional body layer by layer, laser irradiates a selected spot of a powder layer and fuses the powder into a section of the body to be formed into the layer and a plurality of fused sections are fused into one body. The laser is controlled by a raster scanning method over the selected spot of the powder layer. Parallel raster scanning lines are set apart from each other between the center lines, according to a selected pitch, i.e., a space value of filling scanning lines. The positions of the parallel scanning lines are determined not for the outlines of the section to be formed, but for the coordinate system in the powder layer, and the parallel scanning lines are offset for each other by 1/2 of the pitch. By this disposition of the scanning lines, a structural strength of the body to be formed is optimized and, at the same time, the number of the scanning lines necessary for forming the body is minimized.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a smooth contour from parts obtained by using a conventional slice forming method, and manufacture a final laminated object having a high precision and an improved surface appearance. SOLUTION: Statement data for the object to be formed is received. By processing the received data, the data is optimized in order to use the data for a selective energy application to stimulate a state variation of a liquid medium to form the object. The processing of the received data identifies all the vertexes in calculated slice layers of the statement data of the object. The object is sliced in such a manner that slice boundary layers may pass respective vertexes. Boolean function is applied to the sliced layers in order to form the expression of the laminated object having a smooth contour.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the cycle time of each of layers formed at the time of manufacture of three-dimensional matter. SOLUTION: A large quantity of a polymerizable liquid 11 is held on the previously formed layer of the three-dimensional matter 40 and the excessive polymerizable liquid 11 on the previously formed layer is swept and removed by a smoothing member 26. The exposure to a means for curing the polymerizable liquid 11 is delayed until the sweeping by the smoothing member 26 is completed. Thereafter, the curing means is selectively applied to the layer of the polymerizable liquid 11 in order to cure a part of the polymerizable liquid 11 adjusted to desired layer thickness by sweeping to form the next layer of the three-dimensional matter 40 on the previously formed layer of the matter 40. This operation is repeated plural times to form the three- dimensional matter 40 having the cured layer of the polymerizable liquid 11 continuously formed thereon.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize the quicker development and production of a highly accurate three dimensional plastic by a method wherein the coordinate data on an offered three dimensional substance are operated so as to automatically produce a three dimensional substance in response to the operated coordinate data. SOLUTION: By converting the CAD/CAM data of a substance into data representing the sections of the substance and directing a laser beam, the sectional shapes of the substance are drawn on the surfaces of liquid photosensitive polymer layers by means of the above-mentioned sectional data. By directing the beam so as to form a section to be adhered onto the sections already hardened and piled up through the hardening of the liquid photosensitive polymer layer in order to be arranged on the sections already hardened and piled up, the sections already hardened and piled up are positioned to the liquid photosensitive polymer layer. Further, by controlling a directing means and a positioning means by utilizing the above-mentioned sectional data, the piled-up sections of the substance are reproduced out of hardened photosensitive polymers.
