Abstract: PURPOSE: A field emission device and a backlight unit having the same are provided to improve reliability and an electron emission property without an additional active process. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of cathode electrodes(215) is formed on a substrate. A fiber type emitter is provided on a cathode electrode. A plurality of conductive fibers has a braided structure. A carbon nanotube is formed on the surface of conductive fibers. The fiber type emitter(220) comprises the conductive fiber and the carbon nanotube.
