    Abstract: PURPOSE: An optical information recorder is provided to improve playback performance and reliability of data by making a track pitch of a disc information area larger than the track pitch of a user data area. CONSTITUTION: The optical information recorder comprises the user data area(15), a lead-in area(10) inside the user data area, and a lead-out area outside the user data area. The track pitch of all or a part area of the lead-in area is formed differently from the track pitch of other areas.     Abstract: PURPOSE: A method and a device for detecting a radial tilt are provided to detect a radial tilt with high precision on the basis of inner and outer phase comparing signals obtained when traversing tracks. CONSTITUTION: A device for detecting a radial tilt includes a tilt detecting part for detecting a radial tilt on the basis of inner and outer phase comparing signals(Di,Do) obtained by a phase comparing part. When a pickup follows tracks, the inner and outer phase comparing signals have level values to be almost 0. If the pickup part traverse the tracks, the outer and inner phase comparing signals exhibit sine and cosine curves respectively and become opposite to each other. The level value of the outer phase comparing signal becomes 0 when passing 1/2 track pitch, while the level value of the inner phase comparing signal is not 0 and becomes Rs. A radial tilt value is obtained by multiplying the Rs by a proportional factor. The Rs is proportional to the radial tilt but not to any other conditions such as detrack, defocus, disc thickness, and tangential tilt almost.
