Abstract: A super capacitor-fuel cell stack hybrid bus system and a start control method are provided to secure the stability of a 900V high-voltage fuel cell vehicle through the various DC-DC converters and a super capacitor. A super capacitor-fuel cell stack hybrid bus system includes a fuel cell stack for driving a motor and a super capacitor(120) supplying an auxiliary power to the fuel cell stack. The fuel cell stack and the super capacitor are constructed as a power net. The bus system has separate units for 14V and 28V, and 14V and 18V auxiliary batteries(128) for the units for 14V and 28V. DC-DC converters charge the 14V and 28V auxiliary batteries.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A free charging controlling method for a direct current converter for fuel-battery hybrid vehicles is provided to protect a secondary capacitor of the direct current converter from an excess current. CONSTITUTION: A upper switch of a direct current converter is turned on to charge a secondary capacitor(C2) when a primary capacitor(C1) is charged by turning on a first power line coupler(PDU1). The charging voltage for the secondary capacitor is checked and whether the charging voltage rises to a direct link voltage is determined. When the charging voltage of the secondary capacitor rises to the direct link voltage, the upper switch is turned off to suppress an excess current to the direct current converter, and to prevent a breakdown of the secondary capacitor of the direct current converter.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A stack protection device is provided to achieve improved stability of the system by maintaining the initial output voltage constant upon occurrence of a system down during the generation of voltage to the fuel cell stack. CONSTITUTION: A stack protection device comprises a fuel cell(100) for generating an electrical energy by using a hydrogen(H2) produced from a chemical reaction of a fuel; a DC/DC converter(200) for boosting the current and voltage supplied from the fuel cell to a load and controlling the current and voltage to be output in a stable manner; a battery(300) connected in parallel to the output terminal of the DC/DC converter, and which provides a power for operating a motor(500) and recovers a regenerative energy during the braking of the motor; an inverter(400) for processing the voltage supplied from the DC/DC converter into three phases, and controlling operation of the motor in accordance with the control signal applied from a higher processor; a first safety disconnect unit(600A) and a second safety disconnect unit(600B) for cutting off the power being supplied to the load by turning off internal relay contacts(SW11,SW12,SW13,SW14) in accordance with the control signal applied from a higher processor upon occurrence of a system down; and a current removal unit(700) for removing the residual current from a fuel cell stack in accordance with the control signal applied from a higher processor upon occurrence of a system down.
