    Abstract: Disclosed is a continuous extraction process of polyamide particles by means of a circulating aqueous extraction solution within a closed circuit and in substantially stand-up extraction column divided in two zones, wherein in the first zone polyamide is treated with aqueous solution of {epsilon}-caprolactam with concentration ranging within 15 to 40 percent by weight as an extraction agent at a temperature ranging from 100 to 140 degC and subsequently in the second zone it is additionally extracted with water with temperature being by 5 to 40 degC lower. The invented process enables economical manufacture of polyamide with low content of monomer and oligomers.

The caprolactam can then be extracted in a conventional manner. The process provides for economical production of polyamide having a low dimer content.

    Abstract: A process for continuous production of copolyamides based on a lactam (I), a diamine (II) and a dicarboxylic acid (III) comprisesreacting a mixture (IV) comprising a diamine (II), a dicarboxylic acid (III) and water in a first reaction zone at a pressure in the range from 1.3*10 to 2.5*10 Pa in the entry zone of the reaction zone and at a temperature above the melting point of polymer (V) to a conversion, based on the molar amounts of diamine (II) and dicarboxylic acid (III), of at least 80% to form a polymer (V),reacting a mixture (VI) comprising lactam (I) and water in a second reaction zone at a pressure in the range from 5*10 to 40*10 Pa and at a temperature above the melting point of polymer (VII) to a conversion, based on the molar amount of lactam (I), of at least 80% to form a polymer (VII),then reacting polymer (V) and polymer (VII) with each other in a third reaction zone at a pressure in the range from 1*10 to 1.5*10 Pa in the entry zone of the reaction zone at temperatures above the melting point of polymer (VIII) to form a polymer (VIII), said polymer (VIII) having a 95° C. water extractables content, based on lactam (I), diamine (II) and dicarboxylic acid (III), of not more than 10% by weight, andthen extracting the polymer (VIII) with water to obtain the copolyamide.

    Abstract: Device for drying and heat treatment of granulates with an inert gas stream has a rectangular base with granulate inlet/outlet (3,4) at the top and bottom. Inert gas inlet/outlets (5,6) are fitted on opposite sides of the base. Perforated metal sheet or mesh partitions are fitted across the whole surface of the walls containing the gas inlet and outlet to slow down and distribute the gas stream.
