Abstract: A particulate polymer (I) has a particle size range of 0.05-100 microns and a swelling index of 1-50 and contains as anionically polymerizable components, at least one anionically polymerizable vinyl monomer and at least one monomer having two anionically polymerizable functional groups of the same and/or differing reactivity as a crosslinking agent. Independent claims are included for (i) a process for the production of (I) by polymerization of the reactants in the presence of a polymerization initiating anion, an aprotic solvent and a block or graft copolymer that is insoluble in the solvent. (ii) a polymer composition (II) containing at least 50 wt.% of a mixture of (I) and a thermoplastic composition. (iii) fibers, film, molded articles, coating, lacquer or foam containing (I) or (II).

Abstract: A process for the preparation of filler-containing thermoplastic moulding compositions by mixing fillers with thermoplastics in the melt, where a) the fillers are mixed in a mixing device in the melt with a low-molecular-weight thermoplastic having a maximum melt viscosity of 30 Pas (measured at a temperature of 20 DEG C above the melting point of the thermoplastic and at a shear gradient of 1 000 s ), b) the resultant product is discharged from the mixing device, cooled and comminuted, and c) the comminuted product in the solid phase is subsequently subjected to post-condensation.

Abstract: Moulding (I) comprises: (i) 35-90 wt.% styrene-acrylonitrile-copolymer A; (ii) 5-60 wt.% graft polymer B prepd. by grafting a mixt. of styrene and acrylonitrile onto a diene- or acrylate rubber; (iii) 1-30 wt.% organic halogen-contg. flame-retardant C; (iv) 0.5-8 wt.% inorganic gp. 5 cpds. D; (v) 0.05-0.5 wt.% particulate tetrafluoroethylene-polymer E; (vi) 0-10 wt.% (pref. 0.5-5 wt.%) phosphorous cpd. F. (I) is prepd. by mixing an aq. dispersion of E (average particle size, 0.05-20 microns) with at least one additional component A-D as a solid or melt and finally with the remaining components. ADVANTAGE - (I) are flame-resistant and contain minimal amount of flame-retardant and have good durability.
