Abstract: A process of producing a display operating by cathodoluminescence excited by field emission, including forming parallel cathodes on a glass substrate, depositing a silica coating on the cathodes, then a conductive coating and then producing a matrix of holes in the conductive coating and silica coating, depositing on the perforated conductive coating a fourth coating not covering the holes and then depositing on the complete structure a coating of an electron emitting material, eliminating the fourth coating so as to expose the microemitters, forming in the conductive coating grids crossing the cathodes and placing above the grids an anode covered by a cathodoluminescent coating.

Abstract: The device consists of a transparent box with a flat lid and a flat base. Masks on the parallel lid and base form a window for the passage of light. The box is filled with an electrolyte in which a metal counter-electrode (a) is immersed, the metal being the same as the cations in the electrolyte. The inside surface of both the lid and the base is coated with a conducting and transparent electrode film (b1, b2), on which metal is deposited according to the electric current fed through the electrolyte. Electrode (a) is pref. located in the middle of the box. Variable attenuator is obtd. which can block up to 99.9% of a light beam.

Abstract: A METHOD OF CONTROL FOR AN ELECTROLYTIC DISPLAY CELL AND ESPECIALLY A CELL OF THE METAL HALIDE TYPE AND A CIRCUIT FOR THE APPLICATION OF SAID METHOD The electrolytic display cell comprises a plurality of electrodes having suitable shapes for character display, a counter-electrode and an electrolyte. A negative voltage is applied to one of the electrodes for writing on said electrode and a positive voltage is applied for erasure. On completion of erasure, the voltage between electrode and counter-electrode has a tendency to rise to a threshold value corresponding to a parasitic reaction. The end of the erasure pulses is determined by the instant at which the electrode - counterelectrode voltage rises to the threshold voltage corresponding to the production of a parasitic reaction.

Abstract: The easy direction of magnetization of an amorphous magnetic film is brought in the plane of the film by annealing this film in an oxygen-free atmosphere composed of a gas selected from the group comprising argon, neon, krypton and xenon at a temperature below the temperature of crystallization of the alloy which constitutes the film. The depth of penetration of the rare gas into the film is adjusted by modifying the parameters of annealing temperature and time in order to modify the easy direction of magnetization to a greater or lesser depth within the film.
