Abstract: A process of producing a display operating by cathodoluminescence excited by field emission, including forming parallel cathodes on a glass substrate, depositing a silica coating on the cathodes, then a conductive coating and then producing a matrix of holes in the conductive coating and silica coating, depositing on the perforated conductive coating a fourth coating not covering the holes and then depositing on the complete structure a coating of an electron emitting material, eliminating the fourth coating so as to expose the microemitters, forming in the conductive coating grids crossing the cathodes and placing above the grids an anode covered by a cathodoluminescent coating.

Abstract: Electrolytic display cell of the type comprising a transparent electrode of shape suitable for display purposes, a counter-electrode made from metal, called primary metal, an electrolyte inserted between the electrode and the counter-electrode, and means for supplying the electrode and counter-electrode with electric power so as to bring about in certain parts of the electrode the deposition or dissolving of a metal coating formed from the primary metal, wherein the counter-electrode is continuous and also comprises an electricity conducting material, which is chemically and electrochemically inert under the operating conditions of the cell, the said material and the said metal being associated in the counter-electrode in such a way that the primary metal is in contact with the electrolyte and the electricity conducting material forms a continuous film.

Abstract: An electrolytic display cell of the type comprising an electrolyte containing a metallic salt dissolved in a solvent, two parallel plates whereof one is covered by a semi-transparent electrode and whereof the other supports a counter-electrode, the electrode and counter-electrode being connected to the positive and negative poles of a d.c. voltage source via a switch permitting the connection of each pole to any one of the electrodes, the display being obtained by connecting the electrode to the negative pole of the source and the erasing by connecting the electrode to the positive pole, wherein the solvent is an organic solvent and the salt a silver halide.
