    Abstract: Aq. alkali solns. of Si-contg. ion-exchangers contg. units of formula (I) are new. Also claimed is the prepn. of such solns. by (i) converting crosslinked (I) to the OH form using a 0.01-1 M aq. alkali hydroxide soln.; (ii) washing the prod. to make it neutral and free of X ions; and (iii) treating it in water at 40-100 degrees C with a basic hydroxide to dissolve it. R and R = -R -Si-(O)3 with N being connected via R with the Si atom and the 3 free valencies of O being partly or fully satisfied by H or an alkali metal ion; R = 1-10 C alkylene, 5-8 C cycloalkylene, -(CH2)n.cyclohexylene.(CH2)m-, or -(CH2)n.phenylene.(CH2)m-; n = 1-6 (no. of N-attached methylene gps.); m = 0-6; R = as per R and R or H, 1-20 C alkyl or 5-8 C cycloalkyl; R = H, 1-20 C alkyl or 5-8 C cycloalkyl; and X = a 1-3 valent anion.

    Abstract: The invention relates to an organosiloxane copolycondensate comprising where R - R = in which R is C1-C10-alkylene, C5-C8-cycloalkylene or which is bonded directly to N or X, where X = NH-, N-CH3, N-C2H5, -S-, -S2-, -S3-, -S4-, P-C6H5, where R" is H or C1-C5-alkyl, which has optionally been crosslinked by means of Si-, Ti-, Zr- and/or Al-containing crosslinking agents, in the form of spherical particles having a diameter of from 0.01 to 3.0 mm, a specific surface area of from 0 to 1000 m /g, a specific pore volume of from 0 to 6.0 ml/g and a bulk density of from 50 to 1000 g/l. The invention furthermore relates to various preparation processes for the shaped copolycondensates, and to the use of certain compositions in each case for removing metals from solutions or for adsorption of gaseous organic compounds and/or steam.

    Abstract: The invention relates to shaped organosiloxanamine copolycondensates which contain Pd, Pt, Ru and/or Rh and optionally also promoters and/or moderators. The shaped copolycondensate, which is used as a support for metal, comprises units and units and/or Y-R units. R to R are a group in which R is an N-, X- or Y- bonded radical (for example an alkylene radical), and R is R -SiO3/2, H, CH3, C2H5 or C3H7. X is a divalent radical, such as -S-, -S2- to -S4-, -HN-CS-NH-, and Y is a monovalent radical, such as -CN-, -SCN, -SH, -S-CH3, -NH2, or -NH-(CH2)2-NH2. The support substance may have been crosslinked by means of Si-, Ti-, Zr- or Al-containing crosslinking agents. The metal-containing product has a spherical shape and is defined by means of the parameters sphere diameter, specific surface area, pore volume and bulk density. The invention furthermore relates to a preparation process, which can be carried out in a number of variants, and for the use of the metal-containing product as a catalyst for hydrogenation and oxidation reactions.
