Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for use in a user equipment (10), and relates to a user equipment (10) for enabling a serving base station (40) to estimate interference contribution in a network when scheduling resources for the use equipment. According to the method, the user equipment determines an amount of resources required to send data and the user equipment sends a report to it serving base station when the required amount of resources is greater than a threshold value. In the report, measurements performed by the user equipment are included. The report will assist the serving base station with its estimation of the degree of interference user equipments generates in the network, and hence the power and resources to assign.
Abstract:
According to methods and apparatus taught herein, user equipments (UEs) in a wireless communication network are scheduled based on determining received signal power densities for a plurality of UEs to be scheduled, allocating UEs to scheduling intervals based on a sorting of their received signal power densities, and assigning UEs in the same scheduling interval to mirror frequency bands within an available frequency spectrum according to the sorting. For example, UEs to be scheduled are assigned to a given scheduling interval in rank order of their received signal power densities until the scheduling interval is fully allocated. Remaining UEs are assigned in rank order to one or more other scheduling intervals, and the process may be repeated or otherwise carried out on an ongoing basis. Such an allocation scheme tends to minimize both adjacent frequency and mirror frequency interferences between UEs scheduled in the same interval.
Abstract:
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method and a transceiver device in a wireless communication system that enable tuning of the polarization generated by a cross- polarized transmitting antenna configuration of an eNB. This is addressed by a solution where the polarization is adjusted (320) based on a quality indicator e.g. received (310) from one or more UEs. The quality indicator indicates the quality of the communication between the eNB and the UEs, and is used to determine if the adjustment of the antenna configuration is improving the quality of the communication or not. The tuning is thus an iteration (330) of the steps of adjusting (320) the polarization and of receiving (310) the quality indicator, and when the quality indicator has reached a pre-determined value, the iteration is stopped.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method in a first base station (10) having a first coverage area (100) at least partly overlapping with a second coverage area (400) of a second base station (40), the first base station (10) operating within a first transmission power range and the second base station (40) operating within a second transmission power range. The method comprises determining radio link quality of a user equipment UEl connected to the first base station (10) and being located in an adjustable extended coverage range (410) of the second base station (40). Requesting from the second base station (40) interference related measurements for unused physical channels or for physical channels at least partially overlapping with physical channels used by the user equipment UEl connected to the first base station (10) and having the radio link quality falling below a threshold value. Deciding for the user equipment UEl connected to the first base station (10), based on the interference related measurements, if a handover to the second base station (40) should be performed.
Abstract:
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method in a wireless communication system and in particular better usage of available radio resources in such systems by controlling the party effects using user based scheduling back-off. The scheduling back-off according to the invention is based on providing and controlling the number of channels/frequencies/codes/timeslots or fractions of channel use to a terminal depending on information regarding radio channel quality obtained from the system.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method, device and system for handling short data packets, such as speech packets, in a communications network, and in particular a wireless local area network. The present invention is based on collecting several data packets from several users active on the network in one data transmittal protocol packet, transmitting this protocol, and receiving the protocol wherein the each of the several data packets are addressed to specific destinations. This reduces the overhead/data ratio and thus increases the capacity of the network.
