Abstract:
A relay node (34) which wirelessly communicates on a backhaul link over a first interface with a base station node (28) of a radio access technology network and which wirelessly communicates on an access link over a second interface with a wireless terminal (30). The relay node (34) comprises a transceiver (36) and a duplexer section (40). The transceiver (36) comprises a transmitter (42) and a receiver (44). The duplexer section (40) comprises plural transceiver ports (50, 52) and at least one antenna port (48). The relay node (34) is configured to provide a transmit signal from the transmitter (42) in a manner whereby a backhaul link portion of the transmit signal is conveyed through a different transceiver port (50) of the duplexer section than is an access link portion of the transmit signal.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to methods for adjusting a guard period in a cellular wireless communication system, to a base station adapted to adjust a guard period, and to a network management entity for adjusting a guard period. One method comprises the steps: obtaining (S1) an indication of at least one downlink frame for an interference measurement; transmitting (S2) during the at least one indicated downlink frame an interference signal; measuring (S3) interference at least during a part of the guard period succeeding the indicated downlink frame; and setting (S4) at least one of an end time of at least one subsequence.
Abstract:
Abstract:
A backhaul link is established between a base station and a relay that assists the base station in communicating with a mobile device over an access link established between the relay and the mobile device. The channel response of the backhaul link is determined by estimating first and second parts of the backhaul link channel response, the second part changing faster than the first part. The first part of the backhaul link channel response is estimated by calculating an average of the backhaul link channel response over a predetermined period at the relay and the second part is estimated by calculating variation in the backhaul link channel response over the predetermined period at the relay. Quantized versions of the first and second parts of the backhaul link channel response are transmitted from the relay to the base station over the backhaul link.
Abstract:
Network-wide inter-cell interference is reduced by aggregating cells (herein, sub-cells) into Coordinated Multipoint (CoMP) cells, each having a controller. The CoMP cells are divided into sets, similar to a frequency reuse plan. Scheduling information regarding transmissions, scheduled to and from UEs in one set of CoMP cells is transmitted to controllers in sets of neighboring CoMP cells, in advance of the transmissions. Controllers in the receiving sets of CoMP cells schedule transmission to minimize both inter-sub-cell interference and interference with the set of CoMP cells that transmitted the scheduling information, and assuming no interference from other CoMP cells. They then transmit scheduling information to subsequent set(s) of CoMP cells. The order of scheduling information transmission between sets of CoMP cells may be rotated for fairness The scheduling information may range from bare threshold data indicating at least one transmission, to detailed information such as estimated path gains to each UE.

Abstract:
Method for performing a feedback process between a network access node and a user terminal, comprising collecting supporting information and suspending a transmission of a transport block until the supporting information is collected and/or a decision is taken as to whether request either a new transmission or a retransmission. The method may be performed in a serving network node cooperating with supporting network nodes, receivers or antennas, wherein a first part of the information of the transport block is gathered from a receiver or antenna within the serving network node and a second part of the information of the transport block is gathered from one of the supporting network nodes, receivers or antennas.
