    Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed comprising open loop/closed loop uplink power control scheme for E-UTRA. The combined open and closed loop method for UL intra-cell PC controls the wireless transmit receive unit (WTRU) transmit power spectral density (PSD), PSDTx (e.g. power per RB). The method includes receiving signaling indicating an uplink, UL, resource assignment, a power control, PC, correction command and an assigned modulation coding set, MCS; determining a transmit power based on a combination of a power component corresponding to a bandwidth of the UL resource assignment, an open loop PC component, a closed loop PC component and a power offset, wherein the open loop PC component comprises a cell specific open loop PC nominal component and a pathloss compensation component based on a filtered pathloss estimate and a pathloss compensation factor, wherein the closed loop PC component comprises a correction factor, wherein the correction factor is based on the PC correction command, and wherein the power offset is related to the assigned MCS; and applying the transmit power.

    Abstract: A combined open loop and closed loop (channel quality indicator (CQI)-based) transmit power control (TPC) scheme with interference mitigation for a long term evolution (LTE) wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) is disclosed. The transmit power of the WTRU is derived based on a target signal-to-interference noise ratio (SINR) and a pathloss value. The pathloss value pertains to the downlink signal from a serving evolved Node-B (eNodeB) and includes shadowing. An interference and noise value of the serving eNodeB is included in the transmit power derivation, along with an offset constant value to adjust for downlink (DL) reference signal power and actual transmit power. A weighting factor is also used based on the availability of CQI feedback.

    Abstract: Se revela un método y sistema de apoyo de procesos de solicitud repetitivos automáticos e híbridos multiples (H-ARQ) por intervalo de tiempo de transmision (TTI). Un transmisor y un receptor incluyen una pluralidad de procesos H-ARQ a los fines de transmitir y recibir multiples bloques de transporte (TB) simultáneamente por TTI. El transmisor genera una pluralidad de TB y asigna los TB a multiples procesos H-ARQ. El transmisor envía la informacion de control para los TB, y los procesos H-ARQ asociados con los TB en el receptor. Paso seguido el transmisor envía los TB utilizando multiples procesos H-ARQ simultáneamente por TTI. Después de la recepcion de los TB, el receptor envía el feedback a cada uno de los TB indicando la recepcion exitosa o fallida de cada uno de los TB al transmisor. Tanto la informacion de control como el feedback podrán ser enviados mediante un estrato 1 o una parte de control de estratos 2/3.

    Abstract: A method and system for automatic gain control (AGC) in a TDD communication system, wherein each time slot of the communication signal contains a preamble in binary phase shift keying (BPSK) format, located at the beginning of the time slot. The channel estimation by the receiver is improved since the preamble allows AGC to quickly estimate the signal strength and adjust the gain accordingly. This permits all data symbols within the data burst, which follows the preamble, to be correctly received, and results in a midamble channel estimate that is much more accurate. It also allows the AGC circuit within the TDD receiver to be greatly simplified.
