    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a thermoplastic resin composition excellent in corrosion resistance by treating the surface of a metallic filler-containing thermoplastic resin composition with a specific 3-(2-benzothiazolylthio)propionic acid (alkali metal salt). CONSTITUTION:A thermoplastic resin composition, obtained by spraying or applying a solution of one or more of 3-(2-benzothiazolylthio)propionic acid or an alkali metal salt thereof (preferably sodium salt) expressed by formula I (R is H or alkali metal) or 2-mercaptobenzothioazole expressed by formula II or an alkali metal salt thereof (preferably sodium salt) in water, an alcohol, etc., onto the surface of a thermoplastic resin composition prepared by blending 100pts.wt. thermoplastic resin (preferably polyamide resin, etc.) with preferably 50-400pts.wt. metallic filler (preferably iron, etc.) and removing the solvent, capable of maintaining good appearance for a long period without rusting and suitable as molding materials for housings, turntables, etc., of electronic and electrical appliances, etc.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a polyester within a short time while controlling the formation of tetrahydrofuran by-product, by polycondensing an acid component based on an aromatic dicarboxylic acid with a glycol component based on tetramethylene glycol in the presence of niobic acid as a catalyst. CONSTITUTION:An acid component based on an aromatic dicarboxylic acid such as terephthalic acid is polycondensed with a glycol component based on tetramethylene glycol at 200-270 deg.C in the presence of 0.0005-0.5wt.% (in terms of Nb), based on the formed polymer, catalyst prepared by heating niobic acid to 80-400 deg.C in an inert gas atmosphere or in a vacuum.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To apply the material widely to speakers, motors etc. by contriving the improvement in mechanical properties and measurement accuracy by magnetizing a composition formed by compounding a polyamide resin with a metallic salt of ionic hydrocarbon copolymer and iron and/or cobalt metallic fiber. CONSTITUTION:A polyamide resin is magnetized with a composition formed by compounding a metallic salt of an ionic hydrocarbon copolymer and a metallic fiber of iron and/or cobalt. As the polyamide resin for use, any normal chain polymer comprising amide radicals in its molecular chain is polymer comprising amide radicals in its molecular chain is available and single polymer, mixture, and copolymer can be used. As the metallic salt of ionic hydrocarbon copolymer, zinc and sodium or potassium salt which are hydrocarbon copolymers including pendent carboxyl radicals are favorable and the compounding quantity is preferably 5-50wt% to the polyamide resin. Also for the metallic fiber for use, the material can function as a permanent magnet by being imparted with a magnetic field and includes at least iron or cobalt and the compounding quantity is usually 60-95wt%.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable to easily obtain a molding with excellent electrical conductivity by a method wherein thermoplastic resin and condensed metallic short fibers are blended and molded by means of a molding machine equipped with a static mixing nozzle. CONSTITUTION:Thermoplastic resin and paralleled metallic short fibers are blended and molded by means of a molding machine equipped with a static mixing nozzle, or the so-called direct molding is compulsory. The nozzle of a molding machine having so-called Konigs type static mixing elements, each of which consists in twists in twisting a rectangular plate through 180 deg., is exampled for the static mixing nozzle. The number of static mixing elements is enough if the dispersion of metallic short fibers is fully done or preferably lies with in the range of 3-15. Further, the extrusion molding or injection molding is available for the molding method. The rotational frequency of the screw of the molding machine is enough, if thermoplastic resin is filled in a cylinder and plasticized at said rotational frequency. Excessive kneading may be avoided. Furthermore, the size of the metallic short fiber is enough if its supply from a hopper and its molding are possible or preferably lies within the ranges of 2-100mum in fiber diameter, of 2-20mm in fiber length and of 50-3,000 in the aspect ratio of fiber.
