    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a polyurethane foam having excellent packing properties, heat insulating properties and low-temperature dimensional stability by using a specific polyol component and a fluorocarbon substitute as a blowing agent without utilizing a catalyst having strong irritating odor such as tertiary amine. CONSTITUTION:(A) A polyisocyanate compound, (B) a polyol component at least partially composed of a tertiary amino alcohol of the formula (R1 is 3-4C straight-chain alkylene, arylene, etc.; R2 is 1-9C straight-chain alkylene ; R3 and R4 are 1-4C straight-chain alkyl; (n) is average degree of polymerization and is 2-50) and (C) a blowing agent selected from chlorodifluoromethane, 1,1,1- trichlorodifluoroethane, 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane, 1,1,2,2,2-pentafluoroethane and 1,1-difluoroethane are used to give the objective product. The compound of the formula is preferably obtained by reacting a diol such as 1,3-butanediol with a primary amine such as methylamine in the presence of a catalyst consisting essentially of copper-noble metal.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a catalyst composition improved in a filling property into a mold having a complex shape and a skin state, and capable of forming the subject foam having no bubble defect by mixing triethylenediamine with a specific substituted diamino-terminated compound and an imidazole compound. SOLUTION: This catalyst composition is used for producing polyurethane foam for a shoe sole and is composed of (A) triethylenediamine, (B) a compound of formula I [R1 to R4 are each a 1-5C alkyl; X is O, a group of formula II (R5 is R1) or a group of formula III (p) is 2-4; (r) is 2 or 3}; (m) is 1-10; (n) is 1-10 when X is O or a group of formula II and 0 when X is a group of formula III] and (C) a compound of formula IV (R6 and R7 are each H or a 1-4C alkyl), and 100 pts.wt. of the component A is mixed with 5-25 pts.wt. of the component B and 150-230 pts.wt. of the component C.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a polyurethane foam having improved heat insulation properties by reacting an isocyanate with a polyol in the presence of a specified blowing agent, water, a catalyst, a foam stabilizer and two polyoxyethylenealkylamines. SOLUTION: A hundred pts.wt. polyol is mixed with a blowing agent comprising 5-50 pts.wt. hydrocarbon and 0-10 pts.wt. water, 0.001-20 pts.wt. urethanization catalyst, 0.1-5 pts.wt. foam stabilizer, 0.5-20 pts.wt. polyoxyethylenealkylamine of formula I (wherein R1 is an alkyl or alkenyl having 8-18 carbon atoms on the average; and (n) and (m) are each the average number of moles of the ethylene oxide added and give a total of 1-8) and 1-50 pts.wt. polyoxyethylenealkylamine of formula II (wherein R2 is an alkyl or alkenyl having 1-4 carbon atoms on the average; and (p) and (q) are each the average number of moles of the ethylene oxide added and give a total of 1-8) to obtain a polyol premix. This premix is reacted with an isocyanate.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain the adhesive having excellent strength, flexibility and impact resistance, and tremendous workability by comprising an organic polyisocyanate component and a specific polyol component. CONSTITUTION: The object adhesive is composed of (A) an organic polyisocyanate component (e.g. an aromatic-based, an aliphatic-based or an alicyclic-based polyisocyanate having >=2 isocyanate groups, a mixture of their 22 kinds or their modified polyisocyanate) and (B) a polyol component obtained by using at least one kind or tertiary aminoalcohol expressed by the formula (R) is a 2-24C linear or branched alkylene or alicyclic alkylene, etc.; R2 is a 1-9C linear or branched alkyl or aralkyl; R3 is R1 OH; (n) is average polymerization degree, as a positive number of 2-50). Preferably, the tertiary aminoalcohol contained in the component B is 3-40wt.% and more preferably 10-20wt.%.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To produce the subject polymer excellent in packability without using a remarkably irritating catalyst such as a tert-amine by using a specified tert- amino alcohol in combination with a specified carboxylic acid as the polyol components. CONSTITUTION:A tert-amino alcohol of the formula (R1 is a 2 to 24C chain alkylene, or arylene, etc.; R2 is a 1 to 24C chain alkyl, or aryl, etc.; n is average polymerization degree and 1 to 50) is blended with a carboxylic acid (preferably formic acid) of formula R3COOH (R3 is H, or a 1 to 25C chain alcohol, etc.) in a molar ratio of (the former/the latter) = (1/0.01) to (1/37.5). The resultant mixture is used as a polyol component and the polyol component is reacted with a polyisocyanate component. The tert-amino alcohol of the formula is obtained recommendably by reacting a diol such as 1,3-butanediol with a primary amine such as dimethylamine with stirring in the presence of a catalyst having a composition of copper-Ni-VIII group platinum family element, etc., at 150 to 250 deg.C while removing generated water out of the system.
