Abstract: A PROCESS FOR PREPARING A POLYURETHANE FOAM COMPRISING REACTING AN ISOCYANATE COMPOSITION COMPRISING A POLYESTER-POLYOL PREPARED BY POLYCONDENSATION OF A POLYBASIC ACID COMPONENT COMPRISING AN AROMATIC POLYBASIC ACID AND AN ALIPHATIC BASIC ACID, WHEREIN THE MOLAR RATIO OF THE AROMATIC POLYBASIC ACID TO THE ALIPHATIC BASIC ACID IS 0.05 TO 0.4, AND A POLYHYDRIC ALCOHOL COMPONENT, AND AN ISOCYANATE-TERMINATED PREPOLYMER PREPARED BY REACTING A POLYETHER-POLYOL HAVING AN AVERAGE NUMBER OF FUNCTIONAL HYDROXYL GROUPS OF 2 TO 6 AND A NUMBER-AVERAGE MOLECULAR WEIGHT OF 1,500 TO 20,000 WITH AN ORGANIC POLYISOCYANATE (COMPONENT A); WITH A POLYOL COMPONENT COMPRISING A POLYESTER-POLYOL OR POLYETHER-POLYOL, A CHAIN EXTENDER, A BLOWING AGENT, AND A URETHANE PROMOTING CATALYST (COMPONENT B). ACCORDING TO THE PROCESS OF THE PRESENT INVENTION, A PLOYURETHANE FOAM HAVING EXCELLENT FINAL PHYSICAL PROPERTIES SUCH AS TENSILE STRENGTH, WHICH CAN BE SUITABLY USED PARTICULARLY AS A POLYURETHANE FOAM FOR SHOE SOLES, CAN BE OBTAINED WITHOUT THE GENERATION OF PINHOLES OR SHRINKAGES ON THE SURFACE OF THE FORMED ARTICLES.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a catalyst composition improved in a filling property into a mold having a complex shape and a skin state, and capable of forming the subject foam having no bubble defect by mixing triethylenediamine with a specific substituted diamino-terminated compound and an imidazole compound. SOLUTION: This catalyst composition is used for producing polyurethane foam for a shoe sole and is composed of (A) triethylenediamine, (B) a compound of formula I [R1 to R4 are each a 1-5C alkyl; X is O, a group of formula II (R5 is R1) or a group of formula III (p) is 2-4; (r) is 2 or 3}; (m) is 1-10; (n) is 1-10 when X is O or a group of formula II and 0 when X is a group of formula III] and (C) a compound of formula IV (R6 and R7 are each H or a 1-4C alkyl), and 100 pts.wt. of the component A is mixed with 5-25 pts.wt. of the component B and 150-230 pts.wt. of the component C.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a catalyst that imparts transparency to polyurethanes, the polyurethanes for which the catalyst is used and which have good transparency that is characterized by low deterioration per day, and to provide a method for producing such polyurethanes.
SOLUTION: This catalyst for producing polyurethanes contains 1 or more kinds of substances selected from the group consisting of triethylenediamine, 1,8-diazabicyclo[5.4.0]undecene-7,1,5-diazabicyclo[4.3.0]nonene-5, and their salts. The method for producing the polyurethanes comprises reacting a polyisocyanate component with a polyol component in the presence of the catalyst for producing polyurethanes. The polyurethane is obtained by reacting the polyisocyanate component with the polyol component in the presence of the above catalyst for producing polyurethanes.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polyurethane foam having yellowing resistance and showing unimpaired resin strength in mold release and excellent moldability even when the amount of the water-containing blowing agent is increased by reacting an isocyanato-reactive compound with a polyisocyanate in the presence of a specified catalyst. SOLUTION: In reacting a compound having two or more isocyanato-reactive hydrogen atoms and having a molecular weight of 400-10,000 with a polyisocyanate in the presence of a catalyst and a blowing agent, 0.1-3.0 pts. wt. compound (e.g. a compound of formula II or III) represented by formula I (wherein R1 and R2 are each H or a 1-4 C alkyl) is used per 100 pts.wt. isocyanato-reactive compound to produce a polyurethane foam having density of 0.20-0.40g/cm and a tensile strength of 20kg/cm or above. The use of the above catalyst makes it possible to obtain a polyurethane foam having unimpaired strength by virtue of its excellent gelation reactivity in mold release and excellent moldability, having yellowing resistance, and being suited for especially soles even when the amount of the water as the blowing agent is increased to lower the density of the foam.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain an additive which can give a polyurethane improved in hydrolysis resistance and antistatic properties by using a specified quat. ammonium compound as an essential component. CONSTITUTION:A tert. amine is quaternized with an alkyl chloride in a solvent, and the product is subjected to salt exchange by adding dropwise sodium perchlorate to obtain a quat. ammonium compound (A) of the formula (wherein R1 is 1-12 C alkyl, aryl or benzyl). Component A as an essential component is optionally mixed with a metal salt of an inorganic acid, selected from among alkali (alkaline earth) metal salts of perchloric acid, thiocyanic acid and nitric acid, in a ratio of (5-1):1 to obtain the title additive. A mixture of a compound having at least two active hydrogen groups with an organic isocyanate is reacted in the presence of 0.05-10wt.% (in terms of component A), based on the mixture, above additive to obtain a polyurethane.

CONSTITUTION:A tert. amine is reacted with a dialkyl sulfate in an amount equivalent to that of the amine in a solvent to obtain a quat. ammonium compound (A) of the formula (wherein R1 is 6-24 C alkyl; R2 and R2' are each H or 1-3 C alkyl; R is 1-3 C alkyl; and R is 1-12 C alkyl or 1-6 C alkoxy). Component A as an essential component is optionally mixed with a metal salt of an inorganic acid, selected from among alkali (alkaline earth) metal salts of perchloric acid, thiocyanic acid and nitric acid, in a ratio of (5-1):1 to obtain the title additive. A mixture of a compound having at least two active hydrogen atoms with an organic isocyanate is reacted in the presence of 0.05-10wt.% (in terms of component A), based on the mixture, above additive to obtain a polyurethane.
