Abstract: Methods and apparatus for a data transmission in a communication system are disclosed. Each of a subset of plural access terminals desiring to transmit user data in an interval transmits a request to transmit in the interval to an access network. The access network makes a decision to schedule at least one of the subset of the plural access terminals to transmit in the interval in accordance with the request. At least one access point of the access network transmits the decision to the plural access terminals.

Abstract: In a wireless communication system, an apparatus and a method are provided for controlling reverse link interference among access terminals that are power controlled by a sector of a base station. In an embodiment, the maximum effective noise power spectral density is used as a parameter for controlling the level of reverse link loading, by setting a reverse activity bit (RAB) to signal the access terminals to reduce their data rates in order to minimize interference between the access terminals if the maximum effective noise power spectral density is above a predetermined threshold.

Abstract: Un procedimiento para gestionar una lista de sectores que pueden comunicarse con una estación (104) de abonado en un sistema de comunicación, que comprende: recibir una solicitud para eliminar un sector (100, 102) de la lista de la estación de abonado ; determinar una métrica de calidad de enlace inverso de la estación (104) de abonado en el sector (100, 102); conservar el sector (100, 102) en la lista de la estación de abonado si dicha métrica de calidad de enlace inverso determinada es suficiente; caracterizado por determinar si existe un desequilibrio cuando el sector se conserva en la lista de la estación de abonado; en el que dicha conservación del sector (100, 102) en la lista de la estación de abonado si dicha métrica de calidad de enlace inverso es suficiente comprende: determinar una métrica de calidad de enlace directo en la que puede descodificarse una velocidad de transmisión de datos; y establecer un umbral de métrica de calidad de enlace directo para el sector (100, 102) segúndicha métrica de calidad de enlace directo determinada; en el que dicha determinación de si existe un desequilibrio comprende: medir en cada sector (100, 102) que pertenece a la lista las métricas de calidad de enlace inverso de la estación (104) de abonado, determinar en cada sector (100, 102) que pertenece a la lista dicha métrica de calidad de un enlace directo transmitido por el sector a la estación de abonado; y declarar un desequilibrio si: la métrica de calidad del enlace directo de uno de la pluralidad de sectores es superior a una calidad de enlace directo del resto de la pluralidad de sectores mediante un primer umbral; y dicha métrica de calidad de enlace inverso medida en el uno de la pluralidad es inferior a dicha calidad de enlace inverso medida en el resto de la pluralidad de sectores en un segúndo umbral, transmitir desde al menos el sector con la métrica de calidad de enlace directo más alta una orden de control de potencia determinada según la métrica de calidad de enlaceinverso más alta si existe el desequilibrio.
