Abstract:
A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. The apparatus determines at least one time-frequency resource among resources of a cellular communication system to be used for device-to-device (D2D) communication, identifies a propagated start point of a first portion of the at least one time-frequency resource, and begins transmission of the D2D signal from a transmission start point. The transmission start point is based on the propagated start point and a cellular communication system downlink timing offset to the propagated start point. The apparatus also identifies a propagated end point of a last portion of the at least one time-frequency resource and ends transmission of the D2D signal at a transmission end point. The transmission end point is based on the propagated end point and a cellular communication system downlink timing advance to the propagated end point.
Abstract:
Systems and methods are described that facilitate multiple registrations and flow based mobility in a wireless communication network. A flow routing component can be included in a mobile device, home agent / p-gateway, or a policy and charging rules function server that determines the manner in which to route one or more IP flows through a set of network access entry points. The flow routing component can determine the routing based on a set of policies and/or network data, such as quality of service requirements, bandwidth requirements, network congestion, currently active IP flows, and so forth.
Abstract:
Systems and methodologies are described that facilitate communicating encapsulation information for a related mobility protocol type utilized in communicating over a data flow with reduced specific implementation on the policy server to support different mobility protocol types. In this regard, encapsulation information can be transmitted to the policy server from a network gateway such that the policy server can forward the encapsulation information to a serving gateway along with policy rules related to a data flow type. The serving gateway can utilize the encapsulation information to detect and interpret the encapsulated data flow according to the policy rules. In this regard, the serving gateway can provide support (e.g., quality of service support) for the flow. The encapsulation information can relate to a mobility protocol type, an encapsulation header, an indication that encapsulation is required, parameters regarding locating an encapsulation header in a message, and/or the like.

Abstract:
Abstract:
Systems and methodologies are described that facilitate obtaining an Internet Protocol (IP) address of a node with multiple IP addresses using address redirection in a wireless communication environment. A wireless communication component can retrieve a previously registered IP address corresponding to the node from an Authentication, Accounting, and Authorization / Home Subscriber Server (AAA/HSS). Further, a reverse query of a Domain Name Server (DNS) and a forward query of the DNS can be performed. The reverse query can be constructed based upon the previously registered IP address of the node and can resolve a name (e.g., string, ). Further, the forward query can be formed based upon the name and can return a differing IP address of the node.
Abstract:
Systems and methodologies are described that facilitate indicating and de termining mobility management modes in access identifiers for wireless commu nications networks. Wireless devices can indicate mobility management modes to be utilized by choosing a target system and communicating the chosen syst em and a home system to one or more network components. The network componen ts can infer or otherwise determine a mobility management mode based at leas t in part on a relationship between the target and home systems.
Abstract:
Systems and methodologies are described that facilitate enabling multiple address access between two or more networks. A home agent can update a binding cache with a particular proxy binding update (PBU) to include two or more network gateway IP addresses associated with a user equipment (UE) within two or more networks or systems. When the UE in idle mode moves between networks or systems to which registration has occurred, an attachment procedure is not performed since the home agent includes the network gateway IP addresses related to such UE. Thus, inter-system idle mode mobility is enabled without having to perform a full attachment, re-registration, or de-registration based on the network location of the UE.
Abstract:
A user device may receive one or more parameters from a base station to facilitate device-to-device (D2D) discovery. One of the received parameters is a discovery period parameter, which identifies a discovery period in which discovery resources are available for D2D discovery. Once the user device has received the parameters, the user device may use the parameters to participate in D2D discovery.
