Abstract: Wireless communications systems and methods related to communicating in an integrated access backhaul (IAB) network are provided. A first wireless communication device of a multi-hop wireless network receives a first transmission timing adjustment command. The first wireless communication device communicates, with a second wireless communication device of the multi-hop wireless network based on at least the first transmission timing adjustment command, a first communication signal including backhaul data. The first wireless communication device communicates, with a third wireless communication device of the multi-hop wireless network based on the at least the first transmission timing adjustment command, a second communication signal.

Abstract: To synchronize an apparatus during wireless communication, an apparatus may transmit a Random Access Channel (RACH) preamble sequence to a base station. However, care must be taken to prevent the RACH preamble sequence from causing inadequate levels of interference in other uplink resources. In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. The apparatus may be configured to determine, based on a RACH subcarrier spacing and a data tone subcarrier spacing, a number of RACH tones allocated for a transmission of a RACH preamble sequence. In this manner, the apparatus may ensure that adequate uplink resources are allocated to prevent interference.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described that provide for synchronization signal (SS) burst set patterns in which SSs and broadcast channel transmissions may be transmitted (e.g., in time). A base station may identify a SS burst set pattern indicating positions (e.g., time locations) for SS block transmissions, for example, in bandwidth restricted communication systems. The SS burst set pattern may be determined based on numerology or subcarrier spacing associated with SSs and non-SSs. The base station may transmit an indication of the SS burst set pattern to a wireless device. The wireless device may receive the indication of the SS burst set pattern and determine one or more time locations of SSs (e.g., primary synchronization signal (PSS), secondary synchronization signal (SSS), physical broadcast channel (PBCH) of a SS block). The wireless device may then monitor the identified positions for SSs.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and apparatuses for performing a beam recovery procedure using a second CC are disclosed. A UE may perform a beam recovery procedure using two component carriers (CCs): for example, CC1 may be a beam formed millimeter wave (MMW) carrier having a beam recovery procedure and CC2 may be an assisting carrier such as a sub-6 GHz carrier. In a first example, a UE may trigger beam recovery for CC1 (on CC2), generate a beam measurement report, and transmit the beam report on resources allocated for uplink transmission on CC2. In a second example, a new scheduling request (SR) may be defined on CC1 for CC2 beam recovery. In a third example, RACH resources or procedures on CC2 may be used to perform the beam recovery for CC1.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) may initiate a random access (RACH) procedure using an uplink resource selected based on a corresponding received synchronization signal block. The UE may detect a random access procedure trigger. The UE may configure a selection threshold time based at least in part on a latency requirement of the UE. The UE may select a synchronization signal block having a corresponding uplink resource within the selection threshold time. The synchronization signal block and corresponding uplink resource satisfy one or more parameters or conditions. The UE may transmit a random access preamble on the corresponding uplink resource.

Abstract: In some cases, a user equipment (UE) may communicate with a base station using one or more beams, such as in a millimeter wave system. This increases the complexity associated with transmission and reception of advanced grant indications (AGIs) because there are multiple possible beams via which an AGI could be transmitted and/or received, channel conditions of different beams may change over time (e.g., due to UE mobility, beam load, and/or the like), the UE and/or base station may have different capabilities with respect to communications using multiple beams, and/or the like. Some techniques and apparatuses described herein assist with transmission and reception of AGIs in multi-beam wireless communication systems. Some techniques and apparatuses described herein increase a likelihood of successful communication of AGIs, which consequently conserves UE battery power.

Abstract: Backhaul resources may be allocated to different wireless communication links between different base stations, and local redistribution of resources among base stations may be utilized to account for variations in signal quality and/or variations in traffic experienced by different nodes of the backhaul network. A first access node function (ANF) may determine a need for additional backhaul resources, and may transmit a request message to one or more user equipment functions (UEFs) for additional backhaul resources. A UEF that receives the request message may forward the request to an associated second ANF. The second ANF, if it has backhaul resources available that the first ANF can use, may send a response to the first ANF, via the associated UEF, and the first ANF may use the additional resources that were originally allocated to the second ANF.
