Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices for secondary cell activation using temporary reference signals are provided. In one aspect, a method of wireless communication performed by a user equipment (UE), includes receiving, from a base station (BS) via a first cell, an activation command to activate a second cell different from the first cell, and receiving, from the BS via the second cell during an activation period, a first reference signal different from a synchronization signal block (SSB). The method further includes performing a measurement of the first reference signal, and operating in the second cell based on the measurement. In some aspects, using reference signals different from SSBs may reduce the delay associated with activating the secondary cell.

Abstract: In an aspect, a UE may determine a capability of the UE to support two or more frequency range and duplex mode combinations associated with a communication feature, wherein the communication feature is associated with a plurality of frequency ranges and is further associated with a plurality of duplex modes on at least one of the plurality of frequency ranges. The UE may transmit, to a core network component, a UE capability indication that indicates the determined capability. The core network component may receive the UE capability indication. Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive a first slot format configuration for a first cell associated with a first radio access technology (RAT) and a first radio frequency spectrum band that conflicts with a second slot format configuration for a second cell associated with a second RAT and a second radio frequency spectrum band during at least a portion of a transmission time interval (TTI). The UE may determine that the first cell has a priority over the second cell, based on the configured slot formats or based on the radio frequency bands, and may drop a communication on the second cell based on the identified priority. The UE may then communicate during at least a portion of the TTI on the first cell while the UE drops a communication on the second cell.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE), served by a cell of a base station, may identify a time division duplexing (TDD) configuration for a first cell, wherein the TDD configuration includes a symbol pattern for a slot. The base station may determine an overlap between a downlink symbol or a flexible symbol and an uplink symbol during symbols of the slot based on a TDD configuration. A first UE may receive a configuration for transmitting a cross-link interference (CLI) sounding reference signal (SRS) to a second UE according to the configuration. The second UE may measure the CLI SRS and report the measurement.

Abstract: Apparatus, methods, and computer-readable media for providing improved power efficiency during DRX wake-up are disclosed. An example method of wireless communication at a UE includes receiving a WUS from a base station while performing a DRX cycle, the WUS indicating data for transmission to the UE. The example method also includes at least one receiving a downlink reference signal or transmitting an uplink reference signal based on the WUS and prior to reception of the data, the uplink reference signal transmitted or the downlink reference signal received during an on-duration of the DRX cycle and in response to receiving the WUS. The example method also includes sending a CSI report to the base station based on the WUS and prior to the receiving of the data. The example method also includes receiving the data following the respective receiving or transmitting of the downlink reference signal or uplink reference signal.

Because the TCI states may include configured QCL relationships and active QCL assumptions, the number of active beams available for communications between a UE and a base station may be limited by the number of active TCI states (e.g., where the number of active TCI states may be determined based on a UE capability).

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that provide for selection of different sets of transmission beams by a user equipment (UE) for establishing beamformed communications with a base station. Each transmission beam of a first set of transmission beams may have corresponding uplink random access channel (RACH) resources. A UE may monitor for transmission beams from a base station and select a first transmission beam of the first set for communications with the base station. As part of a connection establishment, the base station may provide configuration information that indicates a second set of transmission beams that includes each transmission beam of the first set of transmission beams and at least an additional transmission beam. In some cases, the additional transmission beam may be mapped to a first RACH resource that also corresponds to a first transmission beam of the first set of transmission beams.
