    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high performance optical element by which resistance of an electrode can be reduced and which has high rectifying performance by forming a conductive layer having a specific shape between a base body and an electrode. SOLUTION: In this optical element 20, an electrode and an organic layer are laminated in this order on a base body 6 (for example, 6: a glass substrate, 5: an ITO transparent electrode, 4: a hole transport layer, 3: a light emitting layer, 2: an electron transport layer and 1: a metallic electrode). A conductive layer 9 having electric conductivity higher than the electrode 5 is arranged between the base body 6 and the electrode 5 as a part of the electrode 5 by contacting with the electrode 5, and a side surface 9a is inclined to the base body 6 side so that a layer thickness on the side surface 9a of this conductive layer 9 reduces over to the base body 6 side. It is desirable that an inclination θof the side surface 9a of the conductive layer 9 is 12 to 22 degrees.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain a new zinc multinuclear complex having both high fluorescence and high electron transportability, suitable for making optical elements such as organic EL elements presenting luminescence in high luminance at various chromaticities. CONSTITUTION: This zinc multinuclear complex is expressed by the formula, Zn2 (L -O)m (L O)n (L O 3-m-n Xp (L -L are each a ligand differing from one another; X is an anion; (p) is 0-4). L is e.g. an o-hydroxyphenyl benzoxazole (derivative) of formula I (R -R are each H, a halogen, OH, nitro, carboxyl, etc.), while L is e.g. a 8-hydroxyquinoline (derivative) of formula II [R -R are each H, a halogen, OH, nitro, carboxyl, etc). This complex is obtained by reaction between a zinc salt of the formula, ZnX2 ' (X is an anion) and a compound of the formula, L OH, L OH or L OH in an alcohol.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To make it possible to store the recording information quantity of about 4 times the present recording information quantity to an optical recording medium of the same size without subjecting the device side to a drastic change, such as shortening of the wavelength of reproducing light, increasing of the numerical aperture NA of a focusing lens and changing of a signal demodulation system. CONSTITUTION:At least a saturable absorbent dyestuff-contg. layer 2 formed by a vacuum thin film forming method and a reflection layer 4 are formed on a light transmissive substrate 1 formed with the recording patterns corresponding to information signals as rugged 1a, 1b shapes. Further, a short-wavelength shift layer 3 which shifts the minimal point of the light reflection spectra of the optical recording medium to a short wavelength side is disposed between the saturable absorbent dyestuff-contg. layer 2 and the reflection layer 4. As a result, the recording patterns inscribed on the substrate 1 are correctly traced on the saturable absorbent dyestuff-contg. layer 2 and the reflection layer 4 and the reflectivity is confined within an adequate rate. Then, the optical recording medium exhibits excellent ultra-definition and good reproduced signals are obtd. from the fine recording patterns formed with micropits at a period shorter than the diffraction threshold lambda/2NA of a reproducing optical system.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To lower the reflectance of the surface of a phosphor by coating the surface of the phosphor with a light permeative material having almost the same refractive index as the square root of the refractive index of the phosphor. CONSTITUTION:The surface of a phosphor is coated with a coating material which is a mixture of SiO2 with TiO2 or Al2O3. The refractive index of SiO2 is about 1.4 and the refractive index of TiO2 or Al2O3 is larger than that and the refractive index of the mixture can be adjusted to be near 1.55, which is the square root of the refractive index 2.4 of ZnS, a matrix of a blue- or green- emitting phosphor. The thickness of the light permeative coating material is preferably (1+4+m/2).lambda/n' and the reflactance to the outside light is lowered and no reflection condition that the light emitted from the phosphor inside is not absorbed is produced and thus light scattering is prevented. wherein (m) stands for 0 or position integer, lambda for wavelength of visible light, (n') for refractive index of the coating material. As a result, images with high contrast and black color emphasized are obtained.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To enhance the contrast of a fluorescent screen by restraining scattering of external surrounding light at the fluorescent screen. An inorganic coating agent wherein an inorganic material whose refractive index is greater than 1 is dispersed is used as such a medium 5.

The coproporphyrin derivatives has 4 kinds of isomers due to the positions substituted by methyl and alkyl propionate groups and is obtd. by carrying out alkylesterification of the terminal of the propyronyl group.
