    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide the correction device for camera shake of a picture in which correction processing is ensured by discriminating whether a detected motion vector is a motion vector of a picture due to a camera shake or a motion vector due to an intended camera operation such as panning or tilt. CONSTITUTION:Motion vectors of a picture detected by a motion vector detection section 10 are stored in a vector memory 20 over lots of fields, and a discrimination section 30 discriminates whether or not a motion vector is due to a camera shake based on the history of the motion vector, a correction signal generating section 40 generates the camera shake correction signal of the correction quantity in response to the motion vector due to the camera shake and a correction section 50 applied camera shake correction processing to an input video signal.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To correct the camera jiggle with high accuracy by deciding whether a motion vector is caused by the camera jiggle or not based on the output of an activity deciding means as well as the correlation of the image data on the key point picture elements of each of blocks divided from an image covering a single field. CONSTITUTION:A key point memory 31 stores the image data on the key point picture elements of each of blocks divided from the picture elements equivalent to a single field. The field differential absolute value obtained as the subtraction data on a subtractor circuit 12 is supplied to a correlative integration value table production circuit 13. A motion vector detector circuit 14 detects the minimum value coordinates of the correlative integration value table produced by the circuit 13 and supplies the coordinates to a camera jiggle deciding circuit 30 and a correction value generating part 40. A deciding circuit of the part 30 detects a static block candidate having a key point picture element of the deep correlation and performs the static decision. The part 40 produces a camera shake correction signal and supplies it to a correction part 50 after deciding that the motion vector is caused by the camera jiggle detected by a detection part 10.

Then, a correction part 40 executes blurring correction to the input video signal. When the motion vector of the image estimated by the motion vector estimating circuit 14 is not caused by blurring, a blurring judgement part 20 switches the motion vector to a zero vector.

SOLUTION: A luminance signal Y of a video signal received from an input terminal 110 and a chrominance signal C of a video signal received from an input terminal 120 are added and compression-coded and compression video data (base data) of 4:1:1 are generated. Furthermore, the received video signal is up-converted and a compression video signal of 4:2:2 is generated, and a subtractor circuit 123 subtracts the compression video signal from the base data. The difference is compression-coded to generate enhancement data. In the case of sending the video data of 4:1:1, only the base data are sent and in the case of sending the video data of 4:2:2, the base data with the enhancement data added thereto are transmitted.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the picture quality degradation of pictures in which an edge part and a flat part coexist by controlling activity so as to be small by activity control signals and making a qunatization step width small. CONSTITUTION:DCT coefficients from a DCT(discrete cosine transformation) circuit 2 are supplied to an acitivity judging circuit 9, a maximum AC coefficient within a unit DCT transformation block is calculated and the activity in the DCT transformation block is obtained. Also, input picture information is supplied to a picture block judging circuit 20, a spatial gradient in a picture block is obtained and the activity is controlled corresponding to the size. Since the spatial gradient indicates the sharpness of the edge part, the pictures in which the sharp edge part and the flat part exist can be recognized when the spatial gradient is large. In such time, the activity is controlled so as to be small, the quantization step width becomes narrow, the picture block is finely quantized and the picture quality degration accompanying coarse quantization can be improved.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a natural picture output by stopping hand blur correction when the correlation of the border of a corrected picture interpolated by peripheral picture data from a peripheral memory is small. CONSTITUTION:The device is provided with a motion vector detection section 10, a correction signal generating section 20, a correction section 30 and a correction control section 40, and the video data of surrounding part corresponding to a correction range of a picture based on the video data outputted via a selector 35 are written in a peripheral memory 34. Then a correction control section 40 detects the correlation of a border of a corrected picture resulting from correcting the data with surrounding picture data from the peripheral memory 34 and stops the camera shake correction when the correlation is small. Even when a moving object is in existence at the border or mis-detection takes place at the detection of a motion vector, no breaking is caused to the correction picture due to production if mis-matching in the output picture even when mis-detection takes place and camera shake correction processing is surely applied to an input video signal by the correction section 30.
