Abstract: A magnetic-tape recording apparatus records digital data on a magnetic tape (14) by a rotating head (12). It includes a first obtaining device (1) for obtaining predetermined-unit video data; a second obtaining device (2) for obtaining audio data corresponding to the predetermined-unit video data; a synthesizing device (4) for synthesizing the predetermined-unit video data and the audio data corresponding to the predetermined-unit video data such that they are continuous on a track in the magnetic tape (14) without any space disposed therebetween; and a sending device (5-11) for sending data synthesized by the synthesizing device (4) to the rotating head (12) in order to record the data on the magnetic tape (14).

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for playing-back, a recording medium, and a program which improve the operability of image editing. SOLUTION: A disk wherein main line moving images and low-resolution images having resolutions reduced are recorded is inserted to a disk drive device 1. When a prescribed low-resolution image file is requested from a nonlinear editor 3, the disk drive device 1 reads out the requested prescribed low-resolution image file from a disk and transmits it to the nonlinear editor 3 and reads out main line moving image data corresponding to low-resolution images transmitted to the nonlinear editor from the disk and outputs it to a monitor 4. A person who edits images utilizes low-resolution images to edit images by the nonlinear editor 3 while confirming high-resolution main line moving images displayed on the monitor 4. This system is applicable to a player which plays back recording media where first moving images and second moving images obtained by reducing resolutions of the first moving images are recorded. Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain reproduced data that are not unnatural by joining sound data without losing the continuity of the data in the case of joining MPEG streams. SOLUTION: In the case that data after a video image II of a stream 2 shown in Figure 6(B) are connected just after a video image 2 of a stream 1 shown in Figure 6(A) to edit the data for the production of a stream 3 shown in Figure 6(C), when no sound part is produced as shown in an audio stream 1 of Figure 6(C) or direct connection of an audio III to an audio 3 results in advanced audio data ahead the video data, unnatural reproduction data are produced. Then an audio 4 corresponding to the video 3 to be deleted in the stream 1 is inserted between the audio 3 and the audio III as audio data at the joining point of an audio stream 3 so as to obtain reproduction data that are not unnatural as shown in the audio stream 3.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To take a test signal recorded/reproduced at the time of test mode as a sine wave and to reduce distortion of the test signal by recording a characteristic on a magnetic tape through a recording equalizer capable of changing over in accordance with the record of audio signal or test signal. CONSTITUTION:At the time of audio signal recording mode, a terminal 3c of a changeover switch 3 is connected to a terminal 3a and a switch 8 of the recording equalizer 4 is ON-controlled. By this procedure, the audio signal supplied to the terminal 3 comes to have a frequency characteristic to raise the specified high range by a series resonance circuit consisting of a resistor 9 and capacitor 10, and is outputted from a differential amplifier 5. At the time of test mode, on the other hand, the terminal 3c is connected to the terminal 3b and the switch 8 is OFF-controlled. The test signal from the terminal 3b is thereby recorded on the magnetic tape as the flat characteristic. Consequently, a high range deterioration is generated in the test signal to be reproduced, and the recording is enabled by converting a rectangular wave to the sine wave.

Thus, the video rate of about 28 Mbps is secured.
