Abstract:
Copying, dubbing or reproducing copyrighted digital data can be inhibited or restricted to properly protect a copyright. AV data recorded on a pre-recorded tape is output from a reproducing unit of a first digital VCR with protective information indicating whether the copy of the AV data is inhibited or not. The protective information is input with the A/V data to a second digital VCR. Copy permission information of a blank tape loaded in the second digital VCR is discriminated and the second digital VCR records the AV data supplied from the first digital VCR based on the protective information and the copy permission information.

Abstract:
An editing method in a system of connecting a plurality of equipments by a communication control bus in which isochronous communication and asynchronous communication can be present together and conducting communication between each of the equipments, in which an edition controlling equipment controls a plurality of equipments to be controlled thereby editing isochronous communication data to a recording equipment as one of said equipments to be controlled, said method comprising the following steps of: asking to the equipment to be controlled a first delay time from the instance a predetermined command is received by the equipment to be controlled to the instance the processing corresponding to the command is executed by asynchronous communication, asking to the equipment to be controlled a second delay time of a time code obtained by asynchronous communication from a time code in isochronous communication data by asynchronous communication, asking the time code by the isochronous communication to the equipment to be controlled, and obtaining a boundary position information in the unit section of the isochronous communication from the isochronous communication data, or asking to the equipment to be controlled a third time information from the top position of the unit section of the isochronous communication by the asynchronous communication, and sending a predetermined command at a predetermined timing by the asynchronous communication, based on the first and the second delay times, and the boundary position information or the third time information. There is therefore provided a method of editing isochronous communication data and an edition controlling equipment, wherein edition at a high accuracy can be conducted without reading the system data of isochronous communication in a system in which isochronous communication and asynchronous communication can be present together; edition can be conducted at a high accuracy also in a system in which the edition controlling equipment cannot recognize the boundary in the information signals; and even if there are various delay times from reception till execution of an instruction in the equipment to be controlled, edition can be conducted at a high accuracy.

Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid occurrence of hang-up of a PC caused by inputting a signal format which is different from the driver read by the PC when the recording and reproducing device having a recording and reproducing function for recording and reproducing signals while a plurality of signal formats are mixed, and a communication function is connected to the PC. SOLUTION: In a video system 500, a cam coder 100 which has a function to receive and transmit video signals and control signals through a communication interface compliant with the IEEE1394 standards, and a PC200 are connected through an IEEE1394 cable 300. The cam coder 100 for recording and reproducing the signals through a recording medium while a plurality of signal formats are mixed, is provided with a reproduction controlling means which identifies the connected party by the establishment of the connection with the PC200, stores the current output signal format and controls the reproduction operation so that only the signals having the stored output signal format are outputted when connected to a computer. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide recording equipment, communication equipment for management, a recording management method, and a recording management system by which unauthorized photographing or sound recording can be restricted. SOLUTION: A photographing management region notification signal S1 is transmitted from photographing management equipment 10, and then, a photographing management region 1 is formed. Photographing equipment 11 receiving the photographing management region notification signal S1 is made into a photographing management state, and then, photographing is restricted. The photographing equipment 11 transmits a command S2 to apply the authorization for photographing to the photographing management equipment 10, and then, the authorization for photographing is applied. The photographing management equipment 10 discriminates the propriety of the photographing by analyzing the received signal regarding the application of the authorization for photographing transmitted from the photographing equipment 11. The photographing management equipment 10 transmits a photographing propriety response S3 to the photographing equipment 11. If the signal from the photographing management equipment 10 indicates the authorization for photographing, the photographing equipment 11 is allowed to photograph in the photographing management region 1. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing apparatus that can attain control of simultaneously activating power supplies of IEEE 1394 devices connected to an IEEE 1394 bus. SOLUTION: Even when power of devices compatible with the IEEE 1394 standard connected to the IEEE 1394 bus is turned off, a PHY section of each device discriminates a consecutive time of a bus reset phase and when detecting the consecutive time of the bus reset phase longer than a threshold setting time, the PHY section outputs a power on request to an IEEE 1394 control microcomputer. Thus, it is possible that the power of the devices connected to the IEEE 1394 bus can be simultaneously turned on.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently check the connecting state of equipment on a bus. SOLUTION: A 1394 microcomputer 12 constituting a monitor 1 acquires the number of equipment connected to a 1394 bus 14 and issues commands for checking the connecting states of the equipment connected to the bus 14 by the number corresponding to the number of the equipment. When the microcomputer 12 receives a response from a first VTR 15, camcoder 16, CD-ROM player 17, DVD player 18, or second VTR 19 through an 1394 I/F 13, informs a host microcomputer 11 of the response. The microcomputer 12 does not issue any command to itself, but directly returns the response to the host microcomputer 11.
