Abstract:
An MPEG video decoder (4) and MPEG audio decoder (5) respectively decode MPEG video data and MPEG audio data separated by a demultiplexer (2). A digital interface (11) sends and receives MPEG video data, MPEG audio data and supplementary data between the demultiplexer (2) and external devices. The digital interface (11) detects a flag indicating a discontinuity in a program from an input signal, and a microcomputer (9) performs control so as to initialize buffer memories (3,4a,5a). When the microcomputer (9) detects data indicating a recording start position and recording end position in playback data sent by the demultiplexer (2), this is notified to the digital interface (11). The digital interface (11) generates a discontinuity flag identifying a program change in a header of an asynchronous packet into which video data from the demultiplexer (2) is input. Thus data may be added showing a program change when a plurality of digital broadcast programs are played back on a digital VTR, input to a digital broadcast receiver/demodulator and decoded.

A recording and reproducing device provided with at least a pair of rotary heads having different azimuths, running control means which controls the running of a magnetic tape, and recording timing control means which controls the recording by the rotary heads so that the recording can be performed in a first period when digital data having a first data rate are inputted, whereby the digital data can be recorded on the magnetic tape at the recording timing of the recording timing control means. In addition, the recording and reproducing device is also provided with a memory means which temporarily stores digital data supplied from the outside, reading means which reads out the digital data stored in the memory means, and signal processing means which performs a prescribed process of the digital data read out from the memory means. When digital data having a second data rate which is different from the first data rate are inputted, the recording timing control means and reading-out means perform processes at a speed based on the ratio between the two data rates and, at the same time, the running control means controls the running speed of the magnetic tape based on the data rate ratio.

[Object] To stabilize an operation of a license server by avoiding concentration of license acquisition requests from a large number of clients at a time right after a broadcast start time of a content. [Solving Means] A web server (21) of an IPTV server sets an acquisition request time of a main license within a time period from a broadcast start time to a predetermined set time at random in accordance with an acquisition request of a license for reproducing an encrypted content, the acquisition request being from an IPTV client terminal (10), and transmits, to the IPTV client terminal (10), information on the acquisition request time of the main license and a temporary license including a temporary content key that corresponds to a reproduction of the broadcast content from the broadcast start time to the predetermined set time. A license server (22) transmits the main license including a main content key that corresponds to a whole reproduction of the content in accordance with an acquisition request of the main license, which is executed in the IPTV client terminal (10) based on the information on the acquisition request time.

An arrangement capable for preventing secret information, such as private data and contents that are copyrighted or whose utilizations are limited, in a local network from being leaked or distributed outside the local network. A plurality of identification information of a communication destination device are acquired at different data processing levels. For example, identification information acquired by a data processing in a physical layer or data link layer level in an OSI reference model and identification information acquired by a data processing in a layer level higher than a network layer level are received and compared. As at least one of such identification information, data produced by an encryption processing based on secret information shared with a communication source device or data produced by hash values shared with the communication source device is received. In this way, the plurality of identification information are compared, and it is determined, based on the comparison result, whether the communication destination device is a device connected to the same local network.
Abstract:
When transmitting data to be protected such as audio data by Bluetooth connection, authentication difficulty is switched according to the processing ability of the device to be a communication mate. Accordingly, even a device having a low processing ability can perform Bluetooth communication based on SDMI. Moreover, when the communication mate is a device having a high processing ability such as a personal computer, it is possible to provide sufficient countermeasure for hacking.
Abstract:
Data about apparatuses connected through a bus conforming to the IEEE1394 standards is collected. Connection information connectable in an apparatus is all stored in a predetermined table. A part or all of the connection information stored in the table is transmitted to another apparatus according to a protocol in a prescribed format through a bus-line. Alternatively, data for designating an input section, an output section and an internal function processing section that an apparatus has is transmitted from another apparatus according to the protocol in the prescribed format through a bus-line. Thereby, data about connection statuses of the input section, output section and internal function section of the device concerned is outputted to the bus-line.

A bus management node (11) is provided with a used-channel register REG1 and bus capacity register REG2. Before starting synchronous communication, each node (12) transmits a read instruction to the registers REG1 and REG2 to read their contents so as to check for available channels and bus capacity. When an unused channel exists and a bus capacity remains, the node (12) transmits a write instruction to the registers REG1 and REG2 so that the number of used channels and the capacity of used buses can be respectively stored in the registers REG1 and REG2. Therefore, buses can be managed by a simple method in a system which performs synchronous communication among a plurality of nodes connected to the buses.

There is provided an information processing device capable of appropriately communicating with a communication partner according to a communication time with the partner. A reception control section (41) receives a random challenge (RC) from a terminal (11) of a transmission side and supplies it to a generation section (42). The reception control section (41) transmits an RC reception message indicating that an RC has been received, to the transmission side. The generation section (42) subjects the RC to hash processing and supplies the authentication data obtained as a result to a generation section (43). At a timing before receiving a response request command from the transmission side, a transmission control section (44) controls the generation section (43) so as to generate a response message containing authentication data corresponding to the response request command and, upon reception of the response request command, transmits the response message to the terminal of the transmission destination. The present invention can be applied to a content providing system.

Contents are transmitted from a transmitting apparatus to a plurality of receiver devices, while a communication range and the number of the receiver devices are limited in accordance with a regulation of DTCP. If products as protected by copyrights, such as movies, music and the like, are to be distributed only within one home network and be prevented from being transmitted to other home networks, the communication flexibility is increased when the communication delay time is short and it is highly probable that the communication belongs to a particular range; conversely, the communication flexibility is reduced when the communication delay time is long and it is less probable that the communication belongs to the particular range. In this way, a system can be realized in which the barriers against illegal content distributions are high, while legal home usages are not significantly restricted.

At the time of transmitting content from a first apparatus holding the content through a specified transmission path to a second apparatus so that transmission of content can be controlled simply among a plurality of AV apparatus using a general purpose network, each content held by the first apparatus is added with the information of transfer protocol for outputting that content when the information of that content is disclosed to a controller existing on the transmission line. When transmission of content is started between the first and second apparatus, transmission is managed based on the information of transfer protocol added to that content.
