    Abstract: PURPOSE:To produce fine spherical silicone particles having a narrow particle size distribution by using a hydrocarbon-substd. organopolysiloxane which is an inexpensive starting material. CONSTITUTION:An organopolysiloxane comprising constituent units of [R SiO3/2] or constituent units of [R SiO3/2] and [R 2SiO] and/or [SiO2], and represented by the average compositional formula: R jR kSiOI (wherein R and R each stand for a group selected from the group consisting of 1-4C alkyl groups, 2-4C alkenyl groups, and a phenyl group; j and k are respective no. of 0 to 1.4, provided that j +k=0.6 to 1.4; and l is a no. of 1.3 to 1.7, provided that 2l+j+k=4) is dissolved in an aq.soln. of an alkali hydroxide, followed by removal of cations by an ion exchange method. The soln. thus obtained is subjected to gelation at 50 deg.C or above and a pH of 10 or above to obtain the fine spherical silicone particles having an average particle size of 0.1 to 20mum.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the title compound useful as an intermediate for the synthesis of high polymers in high yield readily in a short time, by dry distillation of epsilon-caprolactam, its ring opening polymer, or epsilon-aminocaproic acid in the presence of LiOH in a specific temperature range. CONSTITUTION:epsilon-Caprolactam, its ring opening polymer nylon 6, or epsilon-aminocaproic acid is dried up by distillation in the presence of LiOH(a strong basic decarboxylating agent) at 300-400 deg.C while distilling the reaction product amino- Schiff base. The LiOH is used in a molar amount of 1 to 2.5 times that of carbonyl groups in the raw material, and preferably monohydrate.     Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the title compound, useful as a raw material of amino Schiff salt (polymeric material), by heating a mixture of an aqueous or alcoholic solution of omega-aminoalkanecarboxylic acid and lithium carbonate, thereby effecting the neutralization with the weak base. CONSTITUTION:A mixture of an aqueous solution or alcoholic solution (C1-4 lower alcohol) of omega-aminoalkanecarboxylic acid, e.g. epsilon-aminocaproic acid, gamma-aminobutylic acid etc., and lithum carbonate is heated at >= 65 deg.C to prepare lithium salt of omega- aminoalkanecarboxylic acid of formula I. The lithium carbonate is preferably used in an amount of >= 0.5 mol to 1 mol of the starting material.
