    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain packages smaller in end face swelling and excellent in winding form even in winding up at high speeds by controlling a thread line tension immediately before it is wound up on the packages 16a through 16d. CONSTITUTION:A bobbin holder 14 and a touch roller 13 are driven by bobbin holder drive induction motors M1 and M2 and a touch roller drive induction motor M3, respectively. The drive frequency of the bobbin holder drive induction motors M1 and M2 are controlled by a controller 20 so that the winding speed of thread line of the bobbin holder 14 is set roughly at a constant. Also the drive frequency of the touch roller drive induction motor M3 and/or bobbin holder drive induction motors M1 and M2 are controlled with the touch roller 13 made in contact with packages 16a through 16d so that the circumferential speed of the touch roller is set faster by a specified amount than the winding speed of the thread line. Thus packages smaller in end face swelling and excellent in winding form can be obtained in winding up at high speeds.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of an unnecessary large tension difference and to prevent a sheet material from slipping at a transport roller portion by suitably balancing the wind-out tension with the winding tension from the winding start to the winding end. CONSTITUTION:The winding tension is controlled to gradually decrease with an increase in the diameter of a take-up roll 32, and the wind-out tension is controlled to gradually decrease with an increase in the diameter of the take-up roll 32. Therefore, a difference in the sum total of the wind-out tension and the winding tension is kept substantially at a naught or at a suitable small value from the winding start to the winding end, so that a tension difference between the take-up side and wind-out side at a transport roller portion 28 is kept small and such tension difference is easily absorbed by the frictional force between the transport roller 28 and a sheet material 23. Thus, a tension difference between the wind-out tension and the winding tension can be reliably kept within the range not to cause slipping.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent a compensating roll from hunting, and as well to reduce variations in tension of a sheetlike material upon winding-off of a paper, by confining the compensating roll during the winding-up speed transits across a predetermined zone within a transient zone upon increasing or decreasing of the speed. CONSTITUTION:The winding-off of a film 1 from a roll 2 is made such that the winding-off speed increases from zero to its winding-off speed, then the film is wound-up by a predetermined length, and thereafter the speed decreases to complete the winding-off and -up in one cycle. Within a transient speed range upon increasing or decreasing of the speed, in a speed range where the hunting of a compensating roll 4 is appreciably large, a disc brake 11 is actuated to fix a disc 10 and an arm 8 so that the displacement of the compensating roll 4 which swings integrally with the arm 8 through the compensating arm 6, is confined. Therefore, the affection of variations in tension from the compensating roll 4 side to the film 1 side may be removed, thereby the problem of hunting of the compensating roll may be eliminated.
