    Abstract: A yarn traversing system of a rotary blades type is disclosed wherein an effective yarn traversing width is divided into two or more groups. Each group is provided with two superimposed and coaxially arranged blades rotating in opposite directions. The yarn is alternately moved in one traversing direction by the rotating blade and transferred from a blade of one group to a blade of the neighboring group. Directional change of the yarn traverse is performed by the cooperation between the two blades in the terminal groups of the effective yarn traversing width. The point shape of the rotary blade is so designed as to effect a smooth and stable transfer and the directional change of the yarn. Location and dimensions of the blades within the groups are so selected that the rotation thereof should not interfere with the rotation of the blades of the neighboring groups.

    Abstract: In winding a yarn Y onto a bobbin (7), a more uniform package can be obtained by the alternate steps of (a) repeatedly traversing the yarn Y over a full traverse stroke Wo and (b) repeatedly traversing the yarn Y over a narrower traverse stroke W. During step (b) the yarn Y is released from the traverse guide means (10; 20-25) at the end of the stroke, whereupon it tends to traverse naturally towards a mid-position until picked up by the traverse guide means (10; 20-25) on its return stroke. The release is effected by yarn release guides (16a, 16b; 27a, 27b) which can be moved to a position where the yarn Y is deflected to a path where it is out of contact with the traverse guide means (16a, 16b; 27a, 27b) at a position corresponding to the ends of the narrower traverse stroke W.

    Abstract: A yarn winder provided with a long spindle (1) having a length of, for example, more than 800 mm, and free from vibration even when used at a high working rotation is provided by various aspects of the present invention. According to a first aspect, the dynamic unbalance of the spindle (1) is corrected by field-balancing in at least three planes including the mid-portion of the spindle (1) by an influence coefficient matrix method. According to a second aspect, the respective spindle (1, 14) mounted on a revolving drum (9) has a natural frequency different from each other so that no resonance occurs when the two spindles (1, 14) are rotated at substantially the same rotational speed. According to a third aspect, a bobbin holding portion (2) of the spindle (1) is formed by two cylindrical hollow bodies (103, 104) each having shorter length that can be easily machined without eccentricity. The rearward cylindrical hollow body (104) has a thicker wall thickness in a region closer to a connection (130) to the forward cylindrical hollow body ( 103) and a thinner thickness in a region farther therefrom, so that a weight of the cylindrical hollow body (104) does not adversely influence the vibration of the spindle. Also, an improved method for donning bobbins (115a through 115d) on the spindle (1) without eccentricity by the use of a stop (124) for providing a vacant distance (P) adjacent to the topmost bobbin (115d) before the same occupies a normal working position.

    Abstract: An improved turret type yarn winding apparatus provided with means for regulating a running yarn passage when the bobbin change operation is carried out. This yarn passage regulating means is capable of utilizing for the conventional turret type yarn winding apparatus. When the full size yarn package is displaced from the winding position to the stand-by position while a fresh bobbin is displaced to the stand-by position to the winding position, the running yarn is firstly shifted to a position outside the traverse motion of the traverse mechanism, and thus shifted running yarn is forced to pass along a predetermined yarn passage maintained by the above-mentioned yarn passage regulating means so that the running yarn can be assuredly caught by a yarn catching means rotated together with the spindle whereon a fresh bobbin is mounted, at the winding position.
