Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the subject fiber having excellent tensile strength, knot strength, etc., by spinning a dope of a high-polymerization degree PVA polymer, drawing the obtained undrawn fiber at a high draw ratio, preheating with warm water at a specific temperature, crimping the fiber and subjecting to low temperature heat-treatment. CONSTITUTION:A PVA polymer having a polymerization degree of >=1,500 is dissolved in a solvent and the obtained dope is spun to form undrawn fiber. The fiber is drawn at an effective total draw ratio of >=15, preheated with warm water at 40-70 deg.C, crimped and finally heat-treated at

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain yarn having maximum draw ratio, high strength and high modulus of elasticity by carrying out dry spinning or gel spinning using a spinning column partially consisting of a porous material, having yarn entry inlet part exposed and not immersed in a coagulating and a cooling solutions. CONSTITUTION:A spinning column of natural suction type of bathing solution partially consists of a porous material so as to satisfy formulas I and II (L is length of cylindrical part made of porous material of spinning column; D is distance from top of cylindrical part made of porous material of spinning column to liquid level of coagulating or cooling bath; P1 is maximum value of distance between centers of opposing outermost extrusion holes of spinneret; P2 is minimum value of distance between centers of opposing outermost extrusion holes) and has a yarn entry inlet part exposed and set above the liquid level 5 of a coagulating or cooling bath 6 is used and dry spinning or gel spinning of a fiber-forming polymer such as polyethylene is carried out so that influence of liquid resistance on coagulated or gel yarn is reduced to give high- quality yarn.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a spinning flow-straightening cylinder controlling the complicated flow of a solution in a bath without producing the differences in the temperature and concentration of the bath solution between the interior and exterior of the spinning flow-straightening cylinder, thereby permitting to provide spun fibers having a high maximum draw ratio in a state free of the disturbance of the spun fibers. CONSTITUTION:A porous material such as a metal net or punched metal is used as a material for the cylindrical member of a spinning flow-straightening cylinder 1 for a dry-wet type or gel type spinning method and the upper terminal portion of the spinning flow-straightening cylinder 1 is exposed above a coagulating bath solution or cooling bath solution 5. Thereby, the cylinder permits to reduce the differences in the temperature and concentration of the bath solution between the interior and exterior of the spinning flow-straightening cylinder to

Abstract: PURPOSE:To suppress effectively the gluing between fibers and obtain the titled fibers for ropes, etc., by passing a solution of a polyolefin having a specific weight-average molecular weight through an inert gas atmosphere, extruding the resultant solution into a coagulation bath, removing a solvent from the spun filaments, and hot-drawing the resultant filaments under specific conditions. CONSTITUTION:A solution containing 0.5-15wt% polyolefin based polymer, e.g. high-density polyethylene, having >=5X10 weight-average molecular weight is passed through an inert gas atmosphere layer and extruded into a coagulation bath to give coagulated filaments, and a solvent is then extracted and removed therefrom to give filaments. The resultant filaments are then hot-drawn at a temperature of the melting point of the polyolefin based polymer -70 deg.C lower than the melting point at >=10 times draw ratio to afford the aimed fibers. Decalin, etc. is preferred for the solvent to be used for preparing the spinning solution.

Abstract: PURPOSE:After a specific polyester-ether is subjected to melt spinning so that its optical birefringence comes in a specific range, the resultant yarn is drawn by the two-stage process by means of rollers which are previously heated in a specific temperature range to give unifom and high-strength yarns. CONSTITUTION:A polymer mainly consisting of poly(ethylene-1,2-diphenoxyethane-p,p'-dicarboxylate) is melt spun, passed through a hot chimney immediately beneath the spinneret and taken up to give an undrawn yarn with an optical birefringence of (5-60)X10 . After or without winding up, the undrawn yarn is fed from the feed roller whose temperature is kept between the glass transition point of the polymer and the one 30 deg.C lower than the transition point, then to the first drawing roller that is running faster than the feed roller and the second roller running further faster to effect two-stage drawing by no use of a drawing pin or drawing plates.

CONSTITUTION:A polymer mainly consisting of poly(ethylene-1,2-diphenoxyethane-p,p'-dicarboxylate) is subjected to melt spinning, passed through a heating chimney immediately beneath the spinneret and taken up to give an undrawn yarn with an optical birefringence of (100-180)X10 . After or without winding up, the yarn is fed from the hot feed roller to the first drawing roller that is running faster than the feed roller and heated at 110-150 deg.C and to the second drawing roller which is running further faster and heated at 180-230 deg.C to effect two-stage drawing so that the first draw ratio is 55-75% of the total ratio.
