    Abstract: PURPOSE:To efficiently obtain the subject yarn useful for tire cord, etc., having excellent thermal dimensional stability, high strength and high modulus of elasticity at low cost by drawing specific polyester yarn in a normal pressure- atmosphere containing a rare gas element. CONSTITUTION:Polyester yarn having >=0.7 intrinsic viscosity [eta] and birefringence is drawn at 1.2 to 8.0 times draw ratio in a normal- pressure atmosphere containing >=60mol% one or more rare gas elements selected from argon, helium, neon, krypton, xenon and radon, consisting of high voltage impressed to a pair of electrodes 1 and 2 wherein the surface at least one side of the electrodes is coated with dialectic materials 3 and 4 to give the objective yarn having >=190X10 birefringence as a high degree of orientation.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the subject monofilament for aquatic raw material, transporting raw material, etc., having high strength and elongation by drawing an intermediate- oriented polyvinylidene fluoride based single filament having a specific double refraction with a discharge part under ordinary pressure atmosphere containing part gas elements. CONSTITUTION:An intermediately oriented polyvinylidene fluoride based monofilament Y having double refractive index is introduced between conductor electrodes 1 and 2 such as metal oppositely provided and having at least one-side surface coated with dielectrics 3 and 4 and high voltage is applied to the monofilament by a discharge part under ordinary pressure atmosphere containing >=60mol% rare gas elements from an electric power 5 and drawn in a draw ratio of 1.2-6.0 times. Thereby crystallization in drawing is suppressed and high orientation can be attained and high draw ratio and drawing under low tension is made possible to provide the objective polyvinyl fluoride based monofilament having >=35X10 double refractive index and useful for uses of aquatic raw materials of fishing line, fishing net, liver net, etc., raw material for reinforcement of rubber belt and transportation of sling, rope, etc., and engineering raw material of fence, prevention of dropping stone, etc.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the subject undrawn yarn excellent in opening properties without mutual sticking between single filaments from a polymer solution in a low concentration by spinning the polymer solution, extracting a solvent from the resultant yarn, drying the extracted yarn, blowing a gas on the dried yarn and vibrating the respective single filaments. CONSTITUTION:A solution of a polymer (preferably PE, polyacrylonitrile or PVA) in 0.5-25wt.%, preferably 1-20wt.% concentration is spun and a solvent is then extracted and removed from the resultant yarn. The afore-mentioned extracted yarn is then dried to provide a dried yarn and a gas (e.g. air or an insert gas) is subsequently blown thereon to vibrate the respective single filaments and afford the objective yarn. Furthermore, the intensity of the blown gas is preferably set so that the vibration amplitude of the single filaments may be 1-7cm.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain PE yarn useful as industrial fibrous material having low creep and excellent dimensional stability by spinning a solution of PE having high-molecular weight to give undrawn yarn containing a specific amount of a photosensitizer, drawing and irradiating the yarn with ultraviolet light. CONSTITUTION:A solution of PE having >=700,000, preferably >=200,000 weight- average molecular weight in decalin is spun to give undrawn yarn containing 0.01-10wt.%, preferably 0.02-5wt.% photosensitizer (e.g. p-chlorobenzophenone). Then the undrawn yarn is drawn and irradiated with ultraviolet light to give the aimed yarn having 0.5-80% gel fraction and >=20g/d, preferably >=30g/d strength of single yarn.

CONSTITUTION:A straight-chain high-density polyethylene with >=700000 weight- average molecular weight and 2,5-dimethyl-2,5-di(t-butyl-peroxy) hexane in an amount of 1wt.% based on the polyethylene are dissolved in kerosene at 180 deg.C and the resultant solution is discharged from a nozzle through an air layer to a spinning bath, washed, dried and drawn to provide a desired fiber, having =45g/d single yarn strength, >=1400g/d single yarn initial elastic modulus without any observed long period structure by small-angle X-ray scattering measurement, having =800g/d E value of dynamic viscoelastic modulus at 100 deg.C in dynamic viscoelasticity measurement.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a polyethylene filament having specific molecular weight, O/C atomic ratio, tensile strength, initial modulus, dynamic visco-elastic characteristics and small angle X-ray scattering characteristics, useful as a light-weight reinforcing material for polar polymeric matrix material and exhibiting high adhesive strength. CONSTITUTION:The objective polyethylene filament has a weight-average molecular weight of >=1,000,000; ratio of the number of oxygen atom to carbon atom of 0.05-0.20 on the filament surface (determined by ESCA); a single filament tensile strength of >=40g/d; a single filament initial modulus of >=1,200g/d; the height of gamma-dispersion peak of tandelta of =600g/d (at 100 deg.C) determined by dynamic viscoelastic measurement; and is free from long-period structure by small-angle X-ray scattering. The filament can be produced by extruding a hot solution through a nozzle, introducing the extrudate into a spinning bath composed of an upper coolant layer and a lower coagulant layer thereby coagulating the filament after gelation, drawing the coagulated filament and passing through a low-temperature plasma.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain high-strength polyhexamethylene adipamide yarn having high strength and high modulus of elasticity and excellent thermal stability by spinning and drawing a polyhexamethylene adipamide under a specific condition. CONSTITUTION:Chips having >=95mol% whole repeating units of molecular chain composed of a polyhexamethylene adipamide, having >3.0 relative viscosity in sulfuric acid, is subjected to melt spinning, blown with a cooling gas in a cooling zone and passed through a spinning column. The cooled and solidified yarn is wound by a take-up roll rotating >=1,500m/minute speed and taken off as yarn having >=20X10 birefringence. The yarn is directly drawn at 1.5-7.0 times draw ratio in an electric discharge part 111 a normal-pressure atmosphere containing >=60 mol % rare gas element or made into polyhexamethylene adipamide yarn having birefringence. The electric discharge part consists of high voltage impressed to a pair of electrodes 1 and 2 wherein the surface at least one side of the electrodes is coated with dialectic materials 3 and 4.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the title conjugate yarn enhanced in resistance to heat, chemicals and fatigue from flexing, consisting of a core component composed of a polymer prepared by blending a polyamide such as polycapramide with polyphenylene sulfide and a sheath component composed of polyphenylene sulfide. CONSTITUTION:A polymer obtained by blending a polycaproamide or a polyamide consisting essentially of polyhexamethylene adipamide with 5-30wt.% polyphenylene sulfide is used as a core component, a polyphenylene sulfide is used as a sheath component, these polymers are separately melted by extruder type spinning machines, conducted to a conjugate spinning pack, spun through a sheath-core type conjugate spinning spinneret to give sheath-core type conjugate yarn, which is provided with a finishing oil, drawn and wound to give the objective sheath-core type conjugate yarn having 85-25wt.% based on whole conjugate yarn of core component and the surface of the whole yarn made of polyphenylene sulfide.
