Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a biaxially oriented thermoplastic resin film suitable as a base film for a video tape not generating the surface shaving of the base film even when repeated running is performed within a VTR, suppressed in drop out, reduced in the generation of a damage and holding running durability equal to that of a back coat layer. CONSTITUTION:In a biaxially oriented thermoplastic resin film constituted by laminating a layer (A-layer) consisting of crosslinked polymer particles and a thermoplastic resin A on at least the single surface of a layer (B-layer) composed of a thermoplastic resin B, the intrinsic viscosity of the A-layer is set to 0.75 or more, the ratio t/d of the thickness (t) of the A-layer and the average particle size (d) of the crosslinked polymer particles contained in the thermoplastic resin A is set to 0.1-5 and the content of the particles in the thermoplastic resin A is set to 1-20wt.%.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare a digital recording magnetic tape in which noise hardly occurs at reading with an MR head, the picture quality is excellent, and the track pitch is ≤6 μm without increasing dropouts, and which is not wearable and has the satisfied run/durable property, and to provide a polyester film for a magnetic recording medium effective for this purpose. SOLUTION: This polyester film for the magnetic recording medium is composed in such a manner that a coating film containing fine organic compound particles and an organic compound is formed on a surface A of the polyester film, and the weight ratio of the fine organic compound particles to the organic compound in the coating film is 1:0.2 to 1:5.0, and the diameters of protrusions on the fine surface of the coating film surface are 20-60 nm and the number of them is 3-100 million/mm 2 , and also the surface roughness Ra of the coating film is 0.5-1.9 nm. Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital video camera which is in the same size as a commercial DVC and compatible and which is capable of recording and reproducing for ultra-long time as long as 7 hours or more for a single cassette. SOLUTION: In the digital video tape recorder, an MR head is used as a reading magnetic head and a magnetic tape of 6.35 mm width is used for recording and reproducing. The magnetic tape comprises a polyester film and a ferromagnetic metal thin film layer formed on the film surface. The tape has 6.35 mm width, 20 to 60 nm thickness of the ferromagnetic metal thin film and 2.5 to 6.0 μm track width and is capable of digital magnetic recording.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester film for a base film suitable for forming a digital video tape excellent in electromagnetic transducing characteristics and nearly free from DO, wherein a cooling can not become dirty when the film is used to manufacture a magnetic tape even in high vapor deposition speed. SOLUTION: The polyester film for a magnetic recording medium consists of a laminated film consisting of a layer A and a layer B and a coating layer formed on the surface thereof. A surface A on the side of the layer A has 2-4 nm SRa value and 10-40 nm SRz value. Fine particle for forming surface projections on a surface B on the side of the layer B are contained in the layer B and the fine particles have 50-500 nm average particle size. The layer B has 0.01-1.0 wt.% fine particle content and the coating layer applied and formed on the side of the layer B has 1-10 nm thickness. A ferromagnetic metallic thin film layer is provided on the outer side of the surface A to form the polyester film used as a magnetic recording medium.
