    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a film improved in surface flatness and cutting resistance and having uniform thickness by adding a metal element and phosphorus element represented by a specific formula to polyester constituting an auxiliary layer and setting a crystallization parameter defined by a separate specific formula to specific temp. or lower and making the same smaller than that of main layer polyester. CONSTITUTION:It is necessary to add a metal element (M) and a phosphorus element (P) to polyester constituting an auxiliary layer so as to satisfy formulae 0.1 g of polyester. In the constitution of DELTATcg=Tc-Tg (wherein Tc is crystallization temp. of polyester and Tg is glass transition temp. of polyester), the crystallization parameter DELTATcg of the auxiliary layer polyester is 70 deg.C or lower and smaller than the crystallization parameter Tcg of the main layer polyester. When M, M/P and DELTATcg are within prescribed ranges, a film good in surface roughness and cutting resistance and having uniform thickness is obtained.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a glycol slurry for a polyester additive which has high softening point and gives a polyester formed article excellent in transparency, antistatic properties and abrasion resistance when formed into film or fiber. CONSTITUTION:This slurry contains 1-70wt.% metal sulfonate derivative represented by the formula R(X)nSO3M (wherein R is 5-30C alkyl; X is an aromatic group; n is 0, 1 or 2; and M is an alkali metal or alkaline earth metal element) and has a pH (hydrogen ion concentration) of 10 or higher.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a polyester composition containing Al2O3-ZrO2 composite oxide particles, having excellent abrasion resistance, transportability and durability and useful as a biaxially drawn film, especially as a substrate for magnetic recording tape. CONSTITUTION:This polyester composition contains Al2O3-ZrO2 composite oxide particles produced e.g. by evaporating AlCl3 and ZrCl4, introducing the compounds into an oxyhydrogen flame using nitrogen gas as a carrier and reacting the compounds in the flame. The ratios of Al2O3 and ZrO2 in the composite oxide particle are preferably 10-90wt.% for Al2O3 and preferably 90-10wt.%, more preferably 80-20wt.%, especially 70-30wt.% for ZrO2. The average particle diameter of the temporary particles of the composite oxide particles is preferably 10-500nm, more preferably 20-300nm, especially 30-200nm. The amount of the composite oxide particle to be added to the polyester is preferably 0.01-5wt.%.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a biaxially oriented laminated film having abrasion resistance, an antistatic and traveling property, evenness, and heat stability. CONSTITUTION:The biaxially oriented laminated film is such that polyester forming a surface layer (secondary layer) contains an organic sulfonic metal acid of 0.1-10wt.% and insoluble particles of 0.01-10wt.% relative to polyester, and the thickness of the secondary layer is to 0.005-5mum. In this way, there are achieved good characteristics such as abrasion resistance, an antistatic and traveling property, evenness, and heat stability, and it is suitably used in the field of a magnetic medium, in particular, of a magnetic tape base film or the like.
