    Abstract: PURPOSE:In an enzymic reaction of a substrate solution containing glucose, to prevent the deactivation of enzyme, and to prolong the life of enzyme extremely, by bringing a carrier linked to a metallic ion capable of having two or more oxidative states into the substrate solution. CONSTITUTION:In an enzymic reaction wherein a substrate solution containing glucose is brought into contact with an enzyme such as glucose isomerase, a dead-end inhibitor for enzyme obtained by linking at least >=0.01meq/g, preferably 0.5-2.5meq/g calculated as metal of metal ion, such as iron, cobalt, copper, etc., capable of having two or more oxidative states, to a carrier such as an ion exchanger, polysaccharide or its derivative, synthetic organic polymer, etc., is brought into contact with the substrate solution before the end of the enzymic reaction.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain an fibrous adsorbent suitable for packing a column, having excellent ion exchange capability and excellent adsorptive capability, by using a knitted continuous filament having an ion exchange groups and a cylindrical form with a specific length as a fibrous adsorbent material. CONSTITUTION:As a fibrous adsorbent to be used for fixation of a physiologically active substance, the exchange of low-molecular ions, etc., a knitted continuous filament (approx. 0.01-50 denies) cylinder having an ion exchange capability and a length of approx. 3-30mm. is used. The fibrous adsorbent, having a large surface area, excellent ion exchange capability, and excellent adsorptive capability, also serves to prevent the loss of pressure, blinding, etc., due to the biased flow of fluid and the consolidation of the fibrous adsorbent material after being packed in a column.
