    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base film for a magnetic recording medium which is improved in dubbing resistance and is suppressed in the deposition of a low mol.wt. material on the film surface by forming projections of a high density and uniform height on the film surface. SOLUTION: This base film consists of a biaxially oriented polyester film formed by laminating a film consisting essentially of polyester A and particles on at least one surface of a film consisting essentially of polyester B.     Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biaxially stretched polyester film improved in productivity by reducing the rupture of a film at the time of lateral stretching and the loss of edge parts not becoming a product and further in quality such as thickness uniformity or irregularity of physical properties in the lateral direction of the film and to provide a method for producing this film at a high speed. SOLUTION: The producing method is constituted so that molten polyester is injected to a rotary cooling body from a cap and quenched to mold a non- stretched sheet which is, in turn, successively stretched longitudinally and laterally to be thermally fixed. In this case, the film after stretched in the longitudinal direction is laterally stretched by grasping the lateral end parts where the refractive index in the lateral direction of the film is more than that of -0.04 or more of the flat central part in the lateral direction of the film, that is, 1.54-1.6. The biaxially stretched film thus obtained is reduced in thickness fluctuations in the longitudinal direction and has specific characteristics by FFT analysis.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To prevent generation of surface defect of a film, particularly striping defect by specifying a product of a draft ratio for film extrusion and a film thickness when a sheet-like cast film is to be obtained by melting and extruding a thermoplastic resin by using a flat die. CONSTITUTION: In a method wherein a sheet-like cast film is manufactured by melting and extruding a thermoplastic resin by using a flat die, when a film thickness d is 100μm or less, a product Rd of a draft ratio R for film extrusion and the film thickness d is set to 1000 or above. When the film thickness d exceeds 100μm, the draft ratio R of the extrusion is set to 10 or aboves. In manufacturing, the thermoplastic resin is melted by heating to a melting completion temperature or higher and sent to the die. After the thermoplastic resin is expanded in the die in the cross direction, it is cooled, at a land of the die, to the melting completion temperature or lower and a down temperature crystallization start temperature or higher, and then extrusion molding is performed. Thus, a film having a little ferrule stripe is obtained.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To facilitate the longitudinal cutting while obtaining the lateral strength and to improve the characteristics of a final product of digital video tape by specifying the thickness of a film, the Young's modulus of the lateral direction of the film and the tear propagating velocity of the longitudinal direction of the film. CONSTITUTION: Regarding biaxially oriented polyester film, the thickness of the film is specified to 8μm or less, the Young's modulus of the lateral direction (TD) of the film is specified to 800kg/mm or more, and the tear propagating velocity of the longitudinal direction (MD) of the film is specified to 50-300g/mm. Two or more layers of the films are laminated, inactive particles are contained in the outermost layer of one side, the mean particle size of the particles is specified to 0.2μm or less, and the thickness of the outermost layer is specified to 0.1μm or less. Further, the quantity of germanium contained in the film is specified to the range of 0.005-0.03wt.% of the polymer. When pancake manufactured in this manner is observed from the direction (1), slitting properties can be improved like a sample 3 as compared with a sample 2.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To realize high image characteristics and printing clarity by forming a netlike material having a fusion bonding point in which fibers of a porous support are fusion-bonded, and forming a film in which the fusion bonding point of parts of the material crosses between the fibers and its thickness is smaller than a mean fiber size. CONSTITUTION:A porous support made of polyester fiber is laminated on one side surface of a polyester film. The support is formed with a film in which a netlike material having a fusion bonding point in which fibers are fusion- bonded is formed and the fusion bonding point of parts of the material crosses between the fibers and its thickness is smaller than a mean fiber size. Such a support is thermally press-bonded, and biaxially co-oriented thereby to manufacture thermal stencil paper. Thus, high image characteristics and printing clarity are provided, and offset is eliminated.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a film keeping excellent cracking resistance and excellent in ply separation resistance by specifying the surface orientation collapse index of the film and the F5 value in all directions within the plane of the film. CONSTITUTION:In a biaxially stretched polyester film, the surface orientation collapse index of the film is set to 5 or more, pref. to 10 or more and the min. value of the F5 value in all directions within the plane of the film is set to 7kg/mm or more, pref., to 10kg/mm or more. In order to obtain the biaxially stretched polyester film having these characteristics, the degree of crystallization of the film before biaxial stretching is set to 15-50%, pref., to 25-40%. The non-stretched film of which the degree of crystallization is set to 15-50% is heated by a heating roll at 100-160 deg.C and stretched longitudinally by 2-5 times over one stage or many stages to be cooled by a roll group held to 20-70 deg.C.
