Abstract:
A manual apparatus of the present disclosure enables quick connection and disconnection of an exoskeleton leg from a remaining body of an exoskeleton. The apparatus comprises a cavity defined by a housing coupled to the remaining body of the exoskeleton; a latch coupled to the remaining body of the exoskeleton, the latch comprising a latching feature; a clip body including a projection element extending from an end thereof, the clip body coupled to the exoskeleton leg; a handle rotatably coupled to a clip base on the clip body; and a hook rotatably coupled to the handle. When the hook is engaged with the latching feature and the handle rotated from a first unlatched position to a second latched position, the projection element moves inside the cavity.
Abstract:
A linkage (100, 200) having a plurality of small angle links (114, 116; 208, 212) with axes of rotation directed to a single point to allow movement of an recipient object without moving the point of action of an applied force (F).
Abstract:
The invention relates to an exercise device, comprising: a hollow cylindrical roller, two end plates fixable at the opposite ends of said roller the inner envelope of the roller and the end plates essentially defining a cavity, and each of the end plates further comprising centrally situated bearing arrangement, two supporting feet each having a first and a second support wherein: the first and the second support of the supporting feet are alignable at the end plates to set said supports at an angle relative to each other, and each of the supporting feet being fixable at the end plates of the roller by a fastening arrangement so that the supporting feet are at least functionally connected to the bearing arrangements of the associated end plates and the roller being rotatably fixed to the supporting feet.
Abstract:
An inventive decubitus prevention device comprises a thermal support member disposed upon a massage member. The massage member comprises at least one manipulation element disposed within a housing component and is configured such that the manipulation element is in contact with the bottom side of the thermal support member. The thermal support member comprises at least one thermal element at least partially encased within a polymeric member. In some embodiments, the inventive decubitus prevention device can further comprise a therapeutic member disposed upon the thermal support member. The therapeutic member comprises a cushioning polymer disposed at least upon the top side of a mitigation member. The inventive decubitus prevention device can provide a therapeutic force to a user, and can additionally provide a heating effect and/or a cooling effect to a user. The inventive decubitus prevention device can be utilized with a bed (such as a mattress combination), a wheelchair, a lounge chair, a couch, an office chair, an examination table, and the like.
Abstract:
A personal massage apparatus employs a single motor to selectively provide the dual action of either a vibrating massage or a percussive massage. Two sprag bearings are mounted on the drive shaft of the electric motor, with the sprag bearings being oriented such that the first sprag bearing is driven when the drive shaft rotates counter-clockwise, and the second sprag bearing is driven when the drive shaft rotates clockwise. The first sprag bearing has an eccentric weight coupled thereto such that vibration for a vibrational massage is caused when the motor rotates counter-clockwise. The second sprag bearing has crankshaft and crank pin coupled thereto, driving a connecting rod in reciprocating motion to drive a percussive massage head when the motor rotates clockwise. A counterbalance on the crankshaft minimizes vibration when the percussion action is selected.
Abstract:
An elevation device used in the performance of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and after resuscitation includes a base and an upper support operably coupled to the base. The upper support is configured to incline at an angle relative to the base to elevate an individual's upper back, shoulders and head. The elevation device includes a support arm coupled with the upper support. The support arm is movable to various positions relative to the upper support and is lockable at a fixed angle relative to the upper support such that the upper support and the support arm are movable as a single unit relative to the base while the support arm maintains the angle relative to the upper support. The elevation device also includes a chest compression device coupled with the support arm. The chest compression device is configured to compress the chest.
Abstract:
A motorized stretching machine for enabling a user to perform stretches targeting areas throughout their body includes a metal base frame with an integral slide track on which a motor driven foot rest apparatus is mounted, a plurality of hand grip frames that enables many different hand grips, and a plurality of foot stands. A plurality of push buttons are disposed in various locations on the right side and left side to allow the user to control the operation of the motor driven foot rest apparatus. The varied positioning of the push buttons facilitates full control during stretches and full stability because the user can hold onto other parts of the machine to assist with balance while actuating the motor control buttons. Advantageously, the overall design helps users engage selected muscle groups without losing balance or flexing any other muscles so the user can enjoy a full stretch.
Abstract:
An massage device, includes a hollow cylindrical foam roller, two end plates fixable at the opposite ends of the roller, the inner envelope of the roller and the end plates essentially defining a cavity, and each of the end plates further including centrally situated bearing arrangement, two supporting feet each having a first and a second support, the first and the second support of the supporting feet are alignable at the end plates to set the supports at an angle relative to each other, and each of the supporting feet being fixable at the end plates of the roller by a fastening arrangement so that the supporting feet are at least functionally connected to the bearing arrangements of the associated end plates and the roller is rotatably fixed to the supporting feet, and the supporting feet may be stored inside the cavity.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a massaging apparatus. The massaging apparatus is comprised of a massage sphere that can be rotated with the use of adjacent ball bearings. The massage sphere is encased in an upper, midsection and lower housings, whereby only a section of the massage sphere is exposed. A strap is connected to the lower housing, and can be wrapped around the midsection housing for easy storage. To use the massaging apparatus, one simply has to hold the device and roll the exposed part of the massage sphere over the desired area. In order to massage hard to reach areas such as the back, both ends of the strap are held in each hand, and the massaging apparatus is placed on a hard surface such as a wall, in between the wall and the person's back. The user holds the straps and applies pressure onto the massaging apparatus.
