Abstract: PURPOSE: A heat pump system for a vehicle and a controlling method thereof are provided to utilize a water cooled condenser using a coolant as a heat exchange medium, and heat-exchange waste heat sources from electronic units with a refrigerant, thereby improving heating performance and dehumidifying performance, and preventing the external frost of an internal condenser generated from outside air which flows in at a very low temperature. CONSTITUTION: A heat pump system for a vehicle a cooling means(110), an air conditioning means(150), and a water cooled condenser(130). The cooling means includes at least one radiator(115) and cooling fan(117). The radiator equipped in the vehicle circulates a coolant along a cooling line through at least one water pump, and cools the supplied coolant through heat exchange with outside air. The cooling fan sends air to the radiator. The coolant is circulated in the water cooled condenser connected to the cooling line. The water cooled condenser selectively uses waste heat sources from electronic units according to the heating, the cooling, and dehumidifying mode of the vehicle in order to vary the temperature of the coolant. The water cooled condenser is connected to the refrigerant line of the air conditioning means, and heat-exchanges the coolant with a refrigerant which flows in the refrigerant line.
