Abstract: A method and an apparatus for performing visible ray communication with a terminal by using the illumination lamp attached into an elevator are provided to receive floor information of a building and common information easily in an elevator by the visible ray communication. A floor of a building to which a user, having a terminal(130), wants to go is input through a floor button of an elevator(100). The elevator moves toward the inputted floor of the building and the floor request information about the inputted floor is produced and transmitted to a central managing station. Thereafter, the floor information and/or building public information produced from the central managing station by the floor request information are/is received. The floor information and/or the building public information are/is transmitted to the terminal located at the inside of the elevator via the visible ray through an illumination member(120) equipped to the inside of the elevator.

Abstract: A PON(Passive Optical Network) is provided to solve a problem that an installation cost of a subscriber increases because a high-priced analog distribution feedback laser should be used. A CO(Central Office)(210) generates downlink optical signals and receives multiplexed uplink optical signals. Plural subscriber units(240-1-240-M) receive a corresponding downlink optical signal and generate a sub-carrier channel including electric data of an allocated frequency. Converters(230-1-230-N) convert the sub-carrier channels into the uplink optical signals. A multiplexing/demultiplexing unit(221) demultiplexes the downlink optical signals which have been multiplexed in the CO(210) and outputs them to a corresponding converter, and multiplexes uplink optical signals received from the converters(230-1-230-N) and outputs them into the CO(210). Intensity separators(235-1-235-N) separate a downlink optical signal of a corresponding wavelength and output the same to corresponding linked subscriber units, and output sub-carrier channels received from the corresponding linked subscriber units to the converters(230-1-230-N).

Abstract: A WDM(Wavelength-Division-Multiplexed)-PON(Passive Optical Network) system using a single-polarization optical fiber is provided to reduce noise in light injection by using an injection light linearly polarized in a direction preferred by a light injection type light source by using a polarization maintaining optical fiber between a wavelength multiplexing filter and a light transmitting unit, and improve transmission characteristics. Wavelength division filters(130) divide wavelength inputted from a broadband injection light source. Light transmission units(110) directly modulate data to be transmitted by using the broadband injection light source inputted through the wavelength division filters(130) and re-transmit it through the wavelength division filters(130).
