Abstract: PURPOSE: A device and a method for removing noise are provided to remove noise without installing a sensor in indoor and to reduce a burden for calculating a sound field of a central calculating device of a noise removing device. CONSTITUTION: A device for removing noise comprises an acquisition unit(110), a noise direction estimating unit, a window opening estimating unit, a gain value calculating unit, and a control sound generating unit(140). The acquisition unit receives noise from a noise source, thereby acquiring noise data corresponding to the noise. The noise direction estimating unit estimates a direction of the noise source based on a window with the noise data. The window opening estimating unit estimates an opening extent of the window. The gain value calculating unit calculates an optimal input gain value based the opening extent of the window and the direction of the noise source. The control sound generating unit generates control sounds based on the optimal input gain value.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A device and a method for tracking the size of a sound source are provided to enable the estimation of position and size of sound sources using a small number of microphones. CONSTITUTION: A device for tracking the size of a sound source comprises a mutual correlation calculation unit(110), a mapping function applying unit(120), and an estimating unit(130). The mutual correlation calculation unit calculates a mutual correlation sequence which is generalized for a microphone. The mapping function applying unit maps a correlation value sequence from a temporal coordinate system to a standard spatial coordinate system. The estimating unit estimates the size of the sound source based on the mapping result of the correlation value sequence. CONSTITUTION: A noise control apparatus(100) comprises a measuring unit(110), a sound analyzing unit(120), an inner sound field estimator(130), and a noise control unit(140). The measuring unit is located outdoors and measures sound pressure. The sound analyzing unit calculates the direction and speed of sound based on the measured sound pressure.
