Abstract: PURPOSE: A suspension for front and dead axles for a commercial vehicle is provided to reduce weight of the vehicle and to improve stability and riding comfort by an independent suspension using return force of torsion for a coil spring. CONSTITUTION: A suspension for front and dead axles for a commercial vehicle includes a mounting member(100), a base arm(200), and a coil spring(300). The mounting member has a bracket on an upper portion to be mounted to a frame. A circular shaft is formed to a side of the mounting member. The base arm has a boss on one end and a spindle on the other end. The boss is mounted to a shaft of the mounting member to be rotated. The spindle is mounted to a vehicle wheel. The coil spring is connected to both ends of a body of the mounting member to generate torsion in moving the base arm. Thereby, return force is generated to the coil spring toward a reverse direction of a movement of the base arm to support load of the vehicle and absorb shock.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A rear suspension system of a bus is provided to reduce the production cost by reducing the weight of a rear suspension system and to enhance the stability of traveling and cornering by minimizing the roll of a vehicle. CONSTITUTION: A rear suspension system of a bus comprises a side frame(10), a pair of air springs(11) combined to the side frame, a suspension beam(12) of which both ends are combined to the lower ends of the air springs and installed parallel with the side frame, a leaf spring(13) having one end combined to a mounting bracket(10a) via a spring pin(13a) and the other end combined with an axle housing(15) via U bolts(14) on the middle of the suspension beam, and a shock absorber(16) of which both ends are respectively fixed on the side frame and the suspension beam. Since the air springs are installed on the same line with the leaf spring, the roll of a vehicle is restrained during a travel. According to the reduced length of the leaf spring, the weight of the rear suspension system is reduced.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A radius rod system is provided to improve turning stability and steering stability regardless of position of a radius rod, uneven roll stiffness and deviation, and to travel optimally by understeering regardless of load fluctuation, sudden turn and road condition. CONSTITUTION: A radius rod system is composed of a leveling valve(11) having a horizontal lever(22) and controlling the height of a vehicle evenly; an air spring(13) connected to the leveling valve and an air line to receive compressed air from an air tank; a 3/2 way valve(14) installed at the side of the air line to control air flow; a second line(15) connected to the 3/2 way valve to flow air; a 5/3 way valve(17) installed in the second line and a first line(16), and connected to the air tank; a radius rod(18) connecting an axle to a vehicle body; and a double-acting cylinder(19) installed in the radius rod to flow compressed air from the air tank. The turning stability and the steering stability are improved regardless of position of a radius rod, uneven roll stiffness and deviation. The vehicle is traveled optimally with understeering regardless of load changes, sudden turn and road condition.
